In this article we will discuss about how to use Google Forms. Google Forms is just one of the many tools that Google gives us to help us get more done. But because many people don’t know how to use Google Forms, they often forget about this tool. Google Forms is a simple way to customize a way to collect a lot of information from many different sources at the same time.
Google Forms is also easy to connect to other Google tools, like Google Sheets, because it is part of the Google G Suite. In most business processes, it’s important to collect data. Google Forms can be used to find out how satisfied your employees are or how your customers feel about using your products.
Ways to use Google Forms
Click the palette icon at the top
This lets you choose a simple color for your theme or an image for the header. You can use a stock image or upload your own. Even though a header image and theme are chosen by default, you can always change them by clicking the Image Uploaded box under the Header option.
You can make your form unique to your business by adding your logo and color scheme to it. The sides will automatically be given a color that goes well with the top and bottom. If you want to see what your form will look like to a respondent, just click the eye icon at the top of the screen.
Create the body of the form
The main toolbox appears to the right of your form’s content. It has six icons that let you add a question, import questions, add a title or description, add an image, add a video, or add a new section. The most important of these options is adding new questions. The default is a multiple-choice question, but you have 11 other choices, from a text box for a short answer question to a linear scale for ratings.
The question templates are easy to understand. There is a text box for the question itself at the top, and the question box already has some information in it to help you fill it out. At the bottom of each question box, there are icons to copy or delete the question, a switch to make the question mandatory, and a menu icon for any other choices.
Click ‘Start a New Form’ and select a template from the Template Gallery in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Google Forms has templates in three different groups (Personal, Work and Education). Even though they don’t cover everything, one of these templates is probably a better place to start than a blank form.
Choose the best form layout for your needs from a list of templates. This picture shows the Google Forms “personal” templates. You can also go to the official Google support site to know more information about Google Forms.
Click the Settings tab and select form options
The first switch lets you decide if the form should be a quiz or not. If you turn this on, you can give each question a correct answer and a point value. In the Responses section, you can decide if you want to collect email addresses or not.
If this box is checked, people who fill out the form will be asked for their email address right before they submit. With more options, users can be limited to one answer per Google account, and answers can be changed.
You can add a progress bar in the Presentation settings. This gives users a percentage of how far they are through a multi-section form at the bottom of each page. This can help keep people going through longer surveys and gives them other options, like changing the order of the questions and making their own confirmation message.
The Defaults section is at the end of the Settings section. There are only two toggles here, and one of them lets you automatically collect email addresses on all forms you make. The other choice is to make it so that all questions on forms are required by default.
