Sustainability and environmental awareness are more important than ever in the tech world, both in terms of packaging and products. For example, there are plastics in the ocean, boxes that can be recycled, and metals that can be used again. The Aspire Vero, a 15-inch laptop from Acer, is the latest to be made in an eco-friendly way. It is made in part from post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials.
Even though the laptop is made of some trash, the result is anything but: good performance, components that can be upgraded, Windows 11 right out of the box, and a design that can’t be denied. It’s not a great deal, but it works well as a laptop that can replace a desktop.

Where to get Acer Aspire Vero AV15?
Even if you don’t care about how green this Aspire Vero is, it’s a sturdy and pretty-looking full-size laptop. It has a boxy shape that doesn’t try to be portable or small. This is clear from the space between the screen and the bezels, the large armrest, and all the empty space inside. Overall, it’s about the same size and weight as a recent 15-inch Aspire 5 laptop.
In terms of comfort, this fits well on a desk and has a strong hinge. But the front edge is sharp, especially around the cut under the trackpad, and the thermal design blows all the hot air into the screen, just like the latest Acer Swift models. I don’t like this kind of thermal design, especially since it’s paired with a screen that can only be turned back about 140 degrees.
Acer used a lot of full-size USB-A ports, HDMI, a USB-C port, LAN, a headphone jack, and a Lock for the IO. But those USB-A ports are slow gen1 versions, and the USB-C port can’t handle video or charging. Our sample is a higher-end version of the Aspire Vero AV15-51 model. It has an Intel Tiger Lake Core i5-1195G7 processor, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, and 512 GB of PCIe x4 SSD storage.
