The Master & Dynamic MW08 impressed us with its opulent design, superior sound quality, and user-friendly physical controls, and we fell in love with it as a result. Even if their average ANC and lack of multipoint pairing left us wanting more, there was no doubting how enjoyable it was to use them on a day-to-day basis.

Now, Master & Dynamic has returned with a new model that is a spin-off of the MW08 called the Master & Dynamic MW08 Sport. The primary distinction between the two is that the Sport model is equipped with a lightweight Kevlar case that is also water resistant. Wireless charging is also included in this variant. After using the MW08 Sport for a few weeks, we came to the conclusion that the normal MW08 offers a better value overall, although this does depend on the specifics of your use case.

Master & Dynamic MW08 Sport review: Design

The Master & Dynamic MW08 Sport is mostly the same as its predecessors. The earbuds still have a metal frame and plastic antenna lines, but the face on the outside is now sapphire instead of ceramic. This makes sense for a headphone designed for sports, since sapphire is a more durable material than ceramic. Luckily, the MW08 and MW08 Sport have the same weight and size earbuds. You can buy this earbudds from its official website
Master & Dynamic MW08 Sport review: Features
This microphone is one of the best things about the MW08. Some words can sound too loud, but in general, it sounds clear. With these earbuds, people with louder voices are more likely to hear a slightly “muffled” sound. There is a noticeable high-end cut on the mic, so sounds in the middle and deep ranges may sound a little “clogged up.”
Master & Dynamic MW08 Sport review: Comfort

The Master & Dynamic MW08 is a good choice if you want the prestige of high-end tech devices and good sound quality. It’s not the best at anything, but it has most of what people want in true wireless earbuds: comfort, style, ANC, good build quality, sound quality, and a pretty good microphone. There are cheaper earbuds out there that can do almost everything the MW08 can do, but that’s not why you buy these.
Master & Dynamic MW08 Sport review: Connectivity
M&D’s wireless earbuds are getting better at connecting, but they’re still not perfect. These headphones use Bluetooth 5.2 and Qualcomm’s Wireless Mirroring technology, so you can connect them to any device that supports them right away.
Still, range is a problem. The MW08 could only work from 15 feet away without skipping, which was terrible. Even though the MW08 Sport doesn’t reach the promised 100-foot range, it does reach the usual 30 feet (10 meters) that most other models do. However, the connection can be spotty depending on how you set it up.
Master & Dynamic MW08 Sport review: Sound Quality
The 11mm beryllium-coated drivers in these buds are the same as the ones in the original set. They produce balanced sounds for a lively, well-rounded sound. One would think that the low end would get louder, since most sports models are made with a focus on bass, but it stays deep and powerful.
We started my warmup with some A group Called Quest. The huge drum hits on “Solid Wall of Sound” sent a shock wave through me and gave me energy before a 5K run. It’s beautiful how M&D’s staging balanced the melodic piano and acoustic guitar parts over the loud production.
Active noise cancellation
ANC hasn’t been tampered with on the MW08 Sport and tames external sounds just as well as its sibling. It is stronger than what you get from the Vista 2 and can go toe-to-toe with the AirPods Pro, but it won’t compete with noise-neutralizing goliaths like the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds or WH-1000XM4.
There are two different ANC modes to select: Max ANC for loud ambient environments and All Day ANC for less noisy environments. Each one works well for their specific purposes, though we always favored Max ANC since it reduces low-frequency noises better.
Price and Availability
The Master & Dynamic MW08 Sport can be bought from Master & Dynamic directly for $349. It comes in black, blue, green, and silver, among other colors. A wireless charging case, a USB-C cable, a USB-A adapter, five different sizes of silicone ear tips, and two different sizes of foam ear tips come with the buy.
Final Words
With the MW08 Sport, M&D has made something unique. There’s no doubt about how good these headphones sound or how long they last on a full charge. From the hardware to the technologies, the description sheet is also very powerful. (e.g., aptX Adaptive, Bluetooth 5.2). Also, the shatterproof design is a big improvement that makes the MW08 Sport more valuable.

FAQS
The lightweight fiber keeps your MW08 Sport earbuds safe and makes them last longer. The case is small enough to fit in your pocket and holds an extra 30 hours of battery life, giving you a total of 42 hours of playtime. It also has an IPX4 rating for water protection.
The MW08 case is the heaviest, at 81 grams. The MW08 Sport, on the other hand, lost enough weight to go down to 56 grams. The Qi wireless charging is made possible by the kevlar, which the steel case of the MW08 doesn’t have.
