SteelSeries’ Apex Pro 2026 February: portfolio receives a new addition in the form of a wired gaming keyboard known as the SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL (2023). OmnmiPoint switches, which let you to customise the actuation point of individual switches, are utilised in this keyboard, just as they have been in earlier entries in the Apex Pro series. When compared to the Apex Pro TKL of the previous generation, which was released in 2019, there are various additional features that have been included.
A broader range of customizable actuation points (currently between 0.2mm and 3.8mm) is one of the new features introduced with this generation. Another new feature is the ability to programme two functions to trigger at distinct actuation points in response to a single keypress. In addition, the keycaps on the previous generation of models were made of a lower-quality ABS plastic, but the ones on this keyboard are made of doubleshot PBT plastic, and the tops of the keycaps have a pleasing textured pattern for increased grip.

Design and Construction

The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL doesn’t try to look fancy, cool, or artistic. This is the first thing you’ll notice about it. Its style, on the other hand, leans more towards being strong and useful than pretty, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. With its soft-to-the-touch magnetic wrist rest, customizable OLED display, and, of course, RGB lights, it tries to add some flair to an otherwise simple look.
It’s not just that it looks strong. It is, thanks to its strong aircraft-grade aluminium frame and fade-proof PBT keycaps that also have a smooth surface to make them easier to hold. The OmniPoint 2.0 switches, on the other hand, are rated for 100 million hits, which is almost forever. You can buy this keyboad from its official website
Software and lighting
Several settings on the Apex Pro TKL Wireless can be changed directly from the keyboard (using the default secondary keybind and/or the OLED smart display) without having to download or run any software. Some of these are adjusting the brightness and sensitivity, swapping profiles, checking the battery life, and recording macros. But the best thing about Apex Pro keyboards is how much you can change them. To get the most out of it, you’ll need the SteelSeries GG companion app.
SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL: Performance

The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL has the company’s new and better mechanical OmniPoint switches, which it calls OmniPoint 2.0. These switches are made to respond 11 times faster and be activated 10 times faster. A normal gamer might not notice the difference in milliseconds, but it will help in gaming, especially if you like fast-paced games where you often fight hordes.
We have no problems with how the games work, of course. This game keyboard is very quick and responsive, and the keys have a satisfying mechanical feel without being too loud. We only wish that the roller had a little less resistance, but since we’re not using it for games, that’s easy to overlook.
Battery and Charging
The keycaps themselves are made of double-shot PBT and have a design that keeps them from fading. They also have a great material that feels great to the touch. The Apex Pro TKL Wireless can also be used as a wired keyboard, and SteelSeries has included a nice braided detachable USB-C to USB-A cord so you can play and charge at the same time. With RGB lighting, the battery life is about 37 hours, which is a little longer than you might think for a wireless TKL product.
Price and availability
For this review, I used the Apex Pro TKL Wireless, but the two keyboards are mostly the same. The big difference is that the Apex Pro TKL is wired, while the Apex Pro TKL Wireless has both 2.4GHz “Quantum 2.0” wireless and Bluetooth 5.0. The Apex Pro TKL costs $190 and the Apex Pro TKL Wireless costs $250. These prices are in line with the most expensive keyboards on our list of the best gaming keyboards, which makes sense since they are part of SteelSeries’ main line.
Final words
The Apex Pro TKL Wireless is neither ground-breaking nor surprising. It’s a redesigned Apex Pro TKL based on the Apex Pro Mini. It has the Apex Pro Mini’s solid, simple, and less unique-looking chassis, as well as updated OmniPoint 2.0 switches. The new Apex Pro TKL Wireless has the same customised OLED screen, media button/volume roller, and magnetic wrist rest that its predecessor had. Also, it has both wired and wireless models, which is different from its predecessor.

FAQS
Our Verdict. The SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL 2023 is a great keyboard for games. It has very low latency, and the OmniPoint switches let you fine-tune the sensitivity of your key presses to match your tastes and the game you’re playing.
They work 11 times faster than regular mechanical switches and have one of the lowest actuations of any mechanical switch. It’s great for people who play seriously, since even a small delay in a stroke can be enough to lose.
