This article will show you how to show and recognize traffic conditions in Apple Maps. Nothing is worse than getting out on the open road only to be slowed down by an accident, work, or a closed road up ahead. Apple Maps can tell you about these kinds of traffic problems before they make your short drive longer. If you aren’t using your iPhone’s GPS tracking feature, it’s time to learn how to use it!
The Apple Maps app is already on your Apple device when you buy it. Apple Maps can help you get around not just if you have a car, but also if you walk, ride a bike, or take the bus. It can tell you about places near you, tell you how busy the roads are right now, tell you if your bus is late, and suggest things to do in a new city.
You can use Apple Maps to plan a trip and get there easily. This app can help you figure out where to go to pick up the grandkids or meet friends for lunch at a new place. If you want to know more information about this Visit Official Apple Support site.
How to show and recognize traffic conditions in Apple Maps
Traffic conditions in Maps on iPhone and iPad
The road conditions can be seen on an iPhone or iPad in either Map view or Satellite view:
- Open the Apple Maps app and search for the desired location whose traffic conditions you wish to see.
- From the top right, select the map button.
- Next, select Driving or Satellite and tap X to close the bottom slide-up screen.
- The moment you select Driving or Satellite maps, you will start seeing local traffic conditions. Orange color on the road means slowdowns and red means heavy/stop-and-go traffic.
Traffic conditions in Maps on Mac
Like on iOS, you’ll need to use Driving or Satellite view in Maps to see how traffic is. This is how:
- Open the Maps app and click the map button from the top.
- Select Driving (and Traffic and Labels will be automatically checked) or select Satellite view and check the tiny box for Traffic and Labels.
- Just like iPhone, depending on the conditions, you will see orange or red dots/lines on the road. You will also see other labels for general alerts, hazards, crashes, road closures, etc.
