The Solidigm P44 Pro SSD is built on the foundation of SK hynix’s Platinum P41 model. When it first came out, the P41 was very fast, which made it one of the fastest drives we tried. A Closer Look

The Solidigm P44 Pro and the Platinum P41 look almost the same. It has a processor, DRAM, and two NAND packages, but it only has one side. The power management circuitry has changed in a few small ways, but that is outside the scope of this study. In general, you can have a discrete system with several parts or a tighter one with a power management integrated circuit (PMIC).
There are changes in cost and the amount of space needed on the board, but the current shortage of PMICs probably makes the design of this drive a bit easier to make in large numbers. Solidigm P44 Pro SSD: Performance

We use the Lenovo ThinkSystem SR635 server, which has an AMD 7742 CPU and 512GB of 3200Mhz DDR4 memory. This server is used for testing databases and making up new ones. An M.2 to PCIe adapter card is put in the edge-card slot to try NVMe natively. A lot of attention is paid to the drive’s delay not just at the lowest QD1 (Queue-Depth 1) levels, but at all load levels. We do this because a lot of the common consumer benchmarks don’t represent the workload profiles of end users well enough. Our laptop is used to run the BlackMagic Disk Speed Test in Windows, which is a new test we added.
Final Words
The SK Hynix Platinum P41 came out at the same time as the Solidigm P44 Pro. Even though it has the same architecture as the P41 (176-layer NAND and an ACNS075 PHC631.00S-1 controller), its software payload is different. It also has an MTBF of 1.6 million hours and an endurance rate of 1,200TBW (for the 2TB model), as well as TCC Pyrite Support and AES 256-bit Encryption.
