Speculations regarding the new device’s release date and availability continue to swirl while we eagerly anticipate the formal introduction of it. While we investigate the most recent rumors, leaks, and facts, our goal is to piece together a likely launch date as well as predicted specifications and prices. This will take some time. It’s only a matter of time before we can determine whether or not these suppositions are accurate.
In a manner that is analogous to the strategy that they do with mobile phones, Samsung has a history of releasing extended versions of their tablets. These variants are identified by the uncomplicated label ‘+,’ which indicates that they are greater in size than the standard models. The fundamental difference between these variants and the normal models is the enlarged size and expanded display space of the latter. In general, these variants are very similar to the standard versions. As our excitement continues to grow, we are still on the verge of finding out whether or not these forecasts are accurate.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus review: Design and display

The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus shares the same sleek corners and a metal back that feels pleasantly cool to the touch as its smaller siblings, the Galaxy Tab S9 and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. It also comes in the same neutral colours of Graphite and Beige, which we can see appealing to a lot of people. However, it would be nice if Samsung gave a fun and colorful choice like Apple provides with the iPad 10, because we think that would appeal to a lot of people.
When it comes to dimensions and internal components, the Tab S9 Plus falls precisely in the middle of the other two S9 versions in the lineup. Depending on the configuration that you select, the tablet has dimensions of 185.4 by 285.4 by 5.7 millimeters and a weight of either 581 or 586 grams. That is only marginally larger and heavier than the Tab S9, but it is quite a bit smaller and lighter in all categories compared to the Tab S9 Ultra.
This also applies to the display, which has a size of 12.4 inches, which is 1.4 inches more than the display on the Tab S9 but 2.2 inches less than the expansive screen on the S9 Ultra. Despite their distinct physical dimensions, all three tablets use the same cutting-edge Dynamic AMOLED 2X display technology and lightning-fast 120Hz refresh rate.
Out of the three different tablet sizes, I preferred the Plus version the most. There is sufficient room to sketch freely on the 12.4-inch display without the fear of developing hand cramps. The larger screen is vivid and clear, making it an excellent choice for viewing content while streaming online. On the other hand, the tablet is still diminutive enough to be easily carried in the vast majority of handbags. In comparison to the Ultra, I believe that I would also feel more at ease carrying it around in one hand at all times.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus review: Camera
The Tab S9 Plus, in contrast to the Galaxy Tab S9, does not lack a rear-facing camera. In point of fact, it has gained one, or at the absolute least, scored a very significant improvement over a rear snapper that was already present. The main camera on this tablet has a resolution of 13 megapixels with autofocus, and it is accompanied by an ultra-wide camera that has a resolution of 8 megapixels.
The ultra-wide camera on the Galaxy Tab S8 Plus only had a resolution of 6 megapixels. Unfortunately, just like with the vast majority of tablets, cameras are an afterthought here, and Samsung does not go into a lot of depth regarding the technology that is included. The front-facing camera is a single 12MP ultra-wide camera.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus review: Performance

The most recent Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset can be found in the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, just as it can be found in the Galaxy S23 series. This one is a variant of the chip that is a little bit quicker than the others. It is quicker than the ordinary Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip by 0.16GHz, as it has a maximum clock rate of 3.36GHz as opposed to 3.2GHz, which is the maximum clock rate that the standard chip possesses. A brand new vapor chamber that has two-way heat dissipation is what keeps this one under control, at least in terms of the temperature. Because of this, the gadget will be able to continue operating at its peak performance for an extended period of time.
The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus will most certainly be able to make the most of the excellent performance offered by this chipset, particularly when it comes to gaming. The graphics processing capabilities of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 are comparable to those of Apple’s most recent A16 Bionic chip; hence, gamers who are anticipating the release of Samsung’s upcoming mid-sized tablet should be more than satisfied with the device. The tablet has a snappy and responsive feel, and it offers a diverse range of customization choices.
Battery and Charging
The battery that is included in the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus from Samsung is the same size as the battery that was included in the Galaxy Tab S8 Plus from the company. A battery with a capacity of 10,090 mAh is responsible for powering the tablet, which, in conjunction with the recently installed processor, enables the device to maintain its functionality for an extended period of time. The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus outlasts the smaller Galaxy Tab S9 and provides a very decent endurance. Our unique battery tests, in which the displays of the devices were always set at 200 nits of brightness and completed while connected to a Wi-Fi network, found that the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus outlasted the smaller Galaxy Tab S9.
It was defeated by the Google Pixel Tablet in our test of video streaming because the Pixel Tablet has an LCD screen that consumes less power, but it easily won our testing of web surfing and 3D gaming. But if I had to choose between the Pixel Tablet and the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, I’d go with the latter. If you use the Galaxy Tab S9 Plus for a variety of purposes during the day, with the majority of those being media-related, it should easily last you the entire day. When you’re watching videos, you might feel compelled to turn up the brightness all the way, and while I completely understand and support your decision to do so, I must warn you that doing so will cause the tablet’s battery to drain quite quickly.
Price & Availability
The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus, which is the mid-range model with a screen of 12.4 inches and a price that causes me to question the decisions I’ve made in my life and the reasons I’m not a millionaire. It is available with or without a built-in 5G modem, and in a variety of storage configurations with varying capacities.
The model with the lowest price point includes 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space, but if you need more space, you can buy 512 GB of storage space (which also comes with 12 GB of memory). Wi-Fi models and 5G models are available for each choice, but in the United States, the 5G model is only available in the smaller option.
Final Words
If you want the more roomy screen that the Tab S9 Ultra provides but desire the portability that the Tab S9 provides, the Tab S9 Plus is the clear compromise that you should go for. The AMOLED display is vivid and brilliant, making it an excellent choice for streaming movies and TV shows; yet, the tablet is not as cumbersomely huge as the most advanced Tab S9 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus: The good and The bad
The AMOLED screen has a high level of brightness and color saturation, making it an excellent device for streaming movies and television shows.
The Good
- Very good cameras
- Long battery life
- Large, high-resolution display
The Bad
- No expandable storage
- No headphone jack
Questions and Answers
The battery lets you use the internet on 3G for up to 12 hours, on WiFi for up to 15 hours, and play videos for up to 18 hours.
Samsung tablets are very flexible mobile computers because they have features like the S Pen, which lets you take notes, and Samsung DeX, which lets you use your tablet like a PC while keeping its small size.
