Apple’s iOS shortcuts, also known as Siri shortcuts, are a feature that allows users to create custom automations or shortcuts to accomplish certain actions on their iOS devices by using the Shortcuts app. This function was launched by Apple and is also known as Siri shortcuts. The Shortcuts app may be downloaded from the App Store for no cost at all. You can look for “Shortcuts” in the App Store, then download it and put it on your iOS device by following those steps. Using the Shortcuts app, you may program your very own shortcuts for use on iOS.
The application features a straightforward user interface that enables you to add activities, modify settings, and produce individualized shortcuts in accordance with your preferences. Shortcuts on iOS are capable of carrying out a diverse array of functions and operations. They can automate operations that are performed repeatedly, integrate many procedures into a single shortcut, interact with applications, obtain information, operate devices in a smart home, send messages, play media, and perform many other functions.
Social Media Downloader
This is a useful shortcut that lets you grab photos and videos from social media apps like Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and more. This is the perfect shortcut for you if you like a post or movie and want to save it so you can watch it offline later. With just one click, the video will be saved to your Photos app. There are a lot of shortcuts like this on the internet, but this is the only one that works on all of them. If this doesn’t work for you, you can also try the “Ultimate Downloader” option. I’ve put both short ways in the list below.
Stay Up-To-Date With Current Events From Around the Globe
Back in the 1980s, there weren’t that many ways to find out what was going on. You could watch TV, read the newspaper, or talk to a friend who knew what was going on, but that was about it. Almost every news story can be read on our phones at any time. We can find out who won a game or match through Twitter alerts, news podcasts we can listen to at work, and sports-related sites. The Internet has forever changed how we get news. But, as we’ve already said, our lives are busier than ever. This RSS reader helps you keep up with what’s going on in the world when you don’t have time to read through various news feeds.
Dark Safari
Dark Safari is another Siri Shortcut that I love and want to share. Since iOS 13 came out with Dark Mode, I love to use it at night. It makes my eyes less tired and makes sure that when I open an app, the bright light doesn’t blind me. But the dark mode doesn’t work when reading stories on Safari. You can solve this problem with this short cut. It makes a bright white font on a black background to make reading easier on the eyes. Unlike other tools that do the same thing, it doesn’t flip the colors, but changes the colors of a website. This will help you read better at night.
Clip Online Text Directly to Apple Notes
We all know that Apple Notes is one of the most important apps out there. You can use Notes to write down your grocery plan for the week, draw a quick picture, or even write your first novel. Still, this app is missing one simple tool that many Apple users wish it had: a web clipper. You can easily copy the text of an online story into a new Note by using this shortcut. How it works is as follows: First, copy the URL to the clipboard of your computer, then run the shortcut. Then you can sit back and relax while the process does all the work, pasting the text into your Notes. The shortcut will even look through the original text to find information like the title, author, release date, and more.
MusicBot shortcut
Check out the MusicBot shortcut to see how powerful shortcuts are and what you can do with them. This shortcut, which was made by Federico Viticci of MacStories, lets you do things like play/pause songs, play specific playlists, make and play smart mixes, find out when your favorite artists have new music out, and more. If you want to know more about this shortcut, you should read the MusicBot piece on MacStories. I don’t know what will blow your mind more than this. There’s just one catch: it only works with Apple Music. So, people who pay for Spotify have no luck. I told you about a cool Alfred process that is like MusicBot for Spotify on Mac when we talked about Spotify. Make sure to look at it.
Calculate Tip
It is never as easy as it should be to figure out the gratuity that should be added to a bill, and this is especially true when you are in a rush at the conclusion of the dinner. After you have executed this quick cut, all that is required of you is to enter the bill and select the desired interest rate, such as 12%, 15%, 18%, or 20%. You will see the whole amount of the bill, including the tip, as well as the tip amount immediately.
Home ETA
There are people who are waiting for you at home, but you have been held up at the office or are caught in traffic. When you invoke the Home ETA shortcut, Apple Maps will calculate an estimated arrival time and send it as a text message to one or more recipients, telling them when you will be arriving home. You don’t even have to start Maps; all you have to do is execute the shortcut, and it will take care of the rest.
Apple Frames 3.0
Another powerful shortcut created by Federico is Apple Frames. It allows you to apply frames to your iOS screenshots. All the framed images that you see on my articles, including this one, are created using this shortcut. Needless to say, this single shortcut has helped this website more than any third-party app or service. This is my favorite Siri shortcut for obvious reasons. I know most people won’t need it, but I couldn’t refrain from sharing a shortcut that has helped me the most.
Schedule a text message
If you need to send the same text message often, like a round-robin “good morning” email to your work team or a cute “good morning” or “good night” message to your boyfriend, you might want to use a personal routine in the Shortcuts app to schedule a text message. Open Shortcuts, tap Create Personal Automation, and then tap Time of Day to plan a text. Tap Next, then type in what the text will say and who it will be sent to.
Add ChatGPT to Siri
By using a Shortcut to add OpenAI’s ChatGPT to Siri, you can make Apple’s virtual helper even more useful. You’ll need an OpenAI account in order to do this. To add ChatGPT to Siri, download the SiriGPT shortcut (opens in a new tab), then log into your OpenAI account and go to your biography. Then, you’ll need to copy your OpenAI API Key and put it into the Shortcut.
