Back to the Previous Build
- In the login screen of the device press Shift and click the Power icon. Do not leave Shift and click the Restart option.
- The above action leads to the Advanced mode, choose Troubleshoot.
- Here in the Troubleshoot, find for Advanced options and click on it. Moving ahead, select “Go back to the Previous build“.
- Log in to your account and choose the Continue button. Again choose the option Go back to the Previous build.
Restore Microsoft Visual C++
- Go to Settings by pressing Win+I and select Apps.
- Now search for the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable in the list. Double click on it and select the Uninstall option to move ahead.
- In the Uninstallation wizard that opens click on the Modify button. Follow the guidelines to complete the repairing and the restoring process.
Repair or replace corrupt files
- Type powershell in the search box and right click on it. Select “Run as administrator”. Alternatively, you can press Windows and the X key together. Select the PowerShell there and run it as administrator.
- Now enter the command sfc / scannow.
- Let the command look for errors and be prepared to wait a moment. Windows will inform you when the scanning and repairs are complete.
- Restart your computer and log in to find out if the error still exists.
Uninstall HP 3D DriveGuard
This is only if you have an HP laptop. This software is a hard drive protection application, but older versions are not compatible with the Creator Update. Uninstalling this app will make that error go away. You can install the latest version of the software after making sure your bug is fixed.
- Go to the search box and search for control panel.
- Click Uninstall a program under the Programs Header.
- From the applications listed, find HP 3D DriveGuard.
- Right click on it and select Uninstall.
- Follow the instructions in the wizard and your HP 3D DriveGuard application will be uninstalled.
- Reboot your system and log in to see if the problem persists.
Go back to the previous version
- While still on the login screen, hold down the Shift key and press the power icon. Click Restart without leaving the Shift key to start in advanced mode.
- Choose Troubleshoot and select Advanced Options. From there, select Revert to previous build.
- You will be asked to log in. Enter your user account and password. Select Go back to previous build one more time.
- You will now have your old version and the error should definitely go away.
