Convert iTunes Songs to MP3: Now, all of Apple Music’s 100 million songs are available in CD quality and are encoded in the Apple Lossless Audio Code (ALAC) format, which is a secure codec that makes it hard to copy and steal. With a standard membership, you can download this huge library so you can play it when you’re not online.
But Apple Music came to the streaming service party pretty late. iTunes used to offer unprotected AAC music files in addition to protected AAC, M4P, and ALAC formats. Can you Convert Apple Music Songs to MP3?
These steps are for songs you buy from the iTunes Store. What if you have songs from Apple Music on your computer? Can they be turned into MP3 files? Even though Apple Music songs are in the AAC format, you can’t convert them to MP3 because they are protected by a special kind of DRM.
The DRM checks to see if you have a valid subscription to Apple Music. Apple or any other streaming music company doesn’t want you to download a bunch of songs, convert them to MP3, cancel your subscription, and keep the music. So, unless you can break the DRM, you can’t change Apple Music to MP3.
