Fix: CSGO Not Launching Issues

In this article we will show you how to Fix CSGO Not Launching Issues. Nothing is worse than a game that keeps crashing or one that doesn’t do anything when you try to play it. Well, one of these games is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO), which is what we’re going to talk about today. Recently, thousands of people who play the multiplayer first-person shooter video game are complaining about problems with the game’s launch. When a game is supposed to start, it keeps crashing until it finally stops.

The Steam launcher lets you play the popular multiplayer tactical first-person shooter CS: GO on Windows. But a number of Steam users have said that they can’t start the CS: GO game. The game won’t open at all, which is frustrating for players. Now, this problem could be caused by a number of different things. It could be because you don’t have admin rights, your game is out of date, your CPU is too fast, your game files are broken, or something else.

Even though no one could say for sure what caused “CSGO Crashing On Startup Error,” your hardware and software settings are almost certainly to blame. Every day, hundreds of thousands of people play Counter Strike: Global Offensive on Steam, so it’s not surprising that it’s the most popular online game on the platform. Even though the game is very stable, some players sometimes have trouble with it. In this troubleshooting guide, we’ll show you what you can do to Fix CSGO Not Launching Issues.

Update your graphics driver

  1. If you have overclocked your GPU/CPU, then the GPU/CPU utilization or temperature might increase. This can lead to the game not starting, and the PC might freeze as well.
  2. Recommended: If you have overclocked your CPU/GPU, it is recommended that you restore your CPU/GPU to clock speeds.
  3. BIOS: You can simply go to the BIOS and Reset All Settings to Default to restore CPU to clock settings.
  4. Software: For the GPU, go to the Software you used for overclocking the GPU and Reset All Settings to Default.

Verify the Integrity of game files

It’s possible that you didn’t close the game properly or that the game files got damaged for some reason. If your files are broken or missing, you won’t be able to play your game. If you think your game files are broken, there is an easy fix you can try before reinstalling the whole game. You can get rid of this problem if you check the integrity of your game files. To do the same, follow the steps to Fix ‘Counter Strike Global Offensive Not Opening’ issue:-

  1. Turn on the Steam Select Properties after clicking on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
  2. Click on the Local Files tab, then on the Verify Integrity of Game Files button.
  3. Verification can take a while, especially if the game is on a hard disk drive (HDD). Be patient and let it run its course.
  4. Start CS:GO.

Reinstall Steam

Last but not least, if none of the other solutions work, you should try reinstalling Steam. Follow these steps if you want to reinstall Steam:-

  1. Right-click on Steam and click “Open file location.”
  2. If you don’t want to lose your information, you should copy the Steamapps folder and put it somewhere else as a backup.
  3. Then, press Windows + R to bring up the Run box.
  4. Enter “appwiz.cpl”.
  5. Find Steam and take it off.
  6. Go to the Steam website to get the Steam installer.
  7. Set up Steam.
  8. Right-click on the Steam icon and click again on the open folder location.
  9. Paste the backup into the SteamApps folder and click Yes, if you are asked if you want to merge folders.

Check for Windows Updates

Windows can also mess up the game in a number of ways that make it impossible to start. Not only that, but Windows Updates can also cause other problems, like stuttering and lagging while playing games. Make sure Windows is up-to-date so you don’t have to deal with these kinds of problems. Here’s what to do:

  1. To open Settings, click on Start and then press the gear icon.
  2. Go to Security and Updates.
  3. Select Check for Updates.
  4. Get new versions.
  5. Start up your computer again to get the updates.

Restore CPU/GPU to Stock Speeds

  1. Update your GPU drivers regularly to avoid outdated drivers.
  2. Outdated drivers can cause issues while playing games, including the game not starting at all.
  3. An issue with your graphics driver can also lead to problems.
  4. To address these issues, it is recommended to perform a fresh install of the GPU driver.
  5. Download Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to perform a clean uninstall of the graphics driver.
  6. Restart your PC after the clean uninstall.
  7. Visit the manufacturer’s website to download the latest GPU drivers.
  8. Install the downloaded drivers.
  9. Restart your PC once again after the installation.

Run CS:GO as an Administrator

Some of the files can’t be opened because the user doesn’t have administrative rights. This is one of the main problems. This could just stop the game from starting up at all. If you are using a regular account that doesn’t have administrative rights or if you have UAC turned on, you should run CS: GO as an administrator. Here’s what to do:

  1. Exit Steam.
  2. Make sure there are no Steam processes in the Task Manager.
  3. Under “Compatibility,” check the box next to “Run this program as administrator.”
  4. Click Apply, then click Ok.
  5. Start Steam back up and then start CS: GO.

End unnecessary processes

  1. Processes running, CPU and memory utilization can impact game startup.
  2. Close unnecessary programs before starting the game.
  3. Right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager.
  4. In Task Manager, right-click on the process you want to end.
  5. Click on End Process to terminate the selected process.
  6. Alternatively, click on the CPU tab or Memory tab to sort processes by their usage.
  7. Identify the process using the most RAM/CPU based on the sorted list.

About CSGO

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) is a tactical first-person shooter game for multiple players that was released in 2012. It was made by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment. It is the fourth game in the series of games called Counter-Strike. Global Offensive took more than two years to make. It came out in August 2012 for OS X, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox 360, and in 2014 for Linux. Valve still makes regular changes to the game, both small ones to fix bugs and bigger ones to add new content.

In the game, two teams, Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists, compete against each other in different modes with different goals. Most of the time, the Terrorists try to set off a bomb while the Counter-Terrorists try to stop them, or the Counter-Terrorists try to save hostages that the Terrorists have taken. There are nine official game modes, and each one has its own set of rules and features. The game also has matchmaking, which lets players play on dedicated Valve servers or community-hosted servers with their own maps and game modes. In late 2018, a battle-royale mode called “Danger Zone” was added.
