When you pick up your iPhone, the first thing you see is the Customize Lock Screen. It’s your first chance to make your device your own, and it gives you quick access to features like the Camera app, Siri, Control Center, and a lot more. With iOS 16, you can change more than ever before on your Lock Screen. You can change fonts, widgets, wallpapers, and more than ever before. Here’s how to change your Customize Lock Screen so that you can get the most out of your iPhone.
Because Android phones can be changed, they are more appealing. In fact, Android users can change everything, from their app drawer to their notification panel and more. In this tutorial, we look at the different ways you can change the Customize Lock Screen on your Android phone.
Customize Lock Screen on iPhone
- Start by tapping and holding on the Lock Screen. This will trigger the editing mode.
- Click on Customize to alter the existing one, or tap the plus (+) icon to create a new one from scratch. We will demonstrate the fresh creation mechanism here as it will also encompass the customization process.
- At the very top, you will find:
- Photos: You choose a wallpaper from your photo library
- Photo Shuffle: Shuffles through several photos
- Emoji: Allows you to select several emojis and create a patterned wallpaper accordingly
- Weather: Turns the local weather conditions and time of day into a realistic, real-time wallpaper
- Astronomy: Includes a selection of Earth, Moon, and other shots
- Color: This lets you pick a plain color and optionally apply filters and add gradients to it
- If you scroll through the generated wallpaper list, you will also find a collection of built-in wallpapers, such as the iOS 16 one, Pride, Unity, Clownfish, etc.
- Pick one of the wallpapers to proceed with the Lock Screen creation and customization process.
- iOS will highlight the section you can tweak, such as the widgets, time, etc.
- Click on any of the highlighted elements and choose from the available options we’ve listed in the previous section of this article.
- Tap on Add once you’re done. Choose Set as Wallpaper Pair if you want the Home Screen to have the Lock Screen’s wallpaper.
- If you’d rather have a different Home Screen wallpaper, tap Customize Home Screen.
- There you get to choose between the Lock Screen wallpaper in both its original and blurred-out forms. Alternatively, you can also choose a plain-color wallpaper or a gradient one.
- After you create more than one Lock Screen setup, you get to link individual setups to your Focus modes.
- To do so, tap and hold on to the Lock Screen to go into edit mode.
- Click on Focus.
- Choose one of your Focus modes to link the Lock Screen setup to.
How to Customize Lock Screen on Android
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Security & Location > Screen lock.
- Confirm your current PIN, password, or pattern if you have one. Then, select swipe, pattern, PIN, or password.
- In the Security & Location settings, tap Lock screen preferences.
- Tap On lock screen and choose one of the three options:
- Show all notification content
- Hide sensitive content
- Don’t show notifications at all
- Go to Lock screen preferences > Lock screen message to add text to the lock screen, such as contact information if you lose your phone.
- If your smartphone has a fingerprint reader, use it to unlock the device. Depending on the device, you may have the ability to add more than one fingerprint so that trusted individuals can also open your phone.
On Samsung Phone
- Go to the Lock screen and long-press on an empty area.
- Type your Lock screen password or scan your finger.
- Here, you can tap different elements of the Lock screen to customize them such as the clock style, font, and colors. You can also customize the notifications, shortcuts, wallpaper, and add filters.
- To change the size of the clock or notifications, drag the outline.
- Once finished, tap Done to confirm.
