There are times when you need to know the exact coordinates of a certain place, but most map programs don’t put that information front and center because it’s not something that’s used very often. We learned that if your GPS device can’t Find GPS Coordinates can be very helpful.
If you’re like me and haven’t updated your Garmin or TomTom in years, you won’t be able to find a lot of new places. Also, if you don’t have much data left on your phone, it might not be a good idea to use it to get directions. When this happens, we use a service like Google Maps to get the coordinates for the address we looking for, and then I just plug those numbers into the GPS in my car.
In this article, we will show you a few different ways to find a place’s GPS coordinates. I’ll even show you how to use your iPhone or Android phone to get the latitude and longitude of where you are right now.
How to Find GPS Coordinates On Android
Google Maps is the best GPS for Android maps because it is a powerful app with a lot of different features all in one place. Most Android phones already have Google Maps installed, but if yours doesn’t, you can download it from the Google Play store.
- Tap “My Location” (the bulls-eye target icon). This should center the map on your phone’s current location
- Press and hold your finger on your current location that appears for more details
- The GPS coordinates of your position will appear followed by the address
Steps to Find GPS Coordinates On iPhone

Using Apple Maps
On an iPhone, there are plenty of built-in ways to get your GPS coordinates. In addition to the above two options, you can also use Apple Maps to find out your Longitude and Latitude. Open Apple Maps and tap your location to do this. Then, scroll down to see where you are. Siri gives you pretty much the same information, but in less steps.
Best GPS coordinates apps
GPS Emulator
GPS Emulator is a great choice for a wide range of activities where you need to fake your location because it is regularly updated and free to use (there is also a paid version). In Jurassic World Alive, are you looking for that hard-to-find dino-DNA? Then GPS Emulator will make it easy for you to finish those Hybrid challenges quickly. The mapping system comes in different flavors, and if you’ve ever used Google Maps, you’re probably already familiar with them.
GPS & Maps
The compass is what makes this navigation app stand out from the rest. It’s not a very interesting feature, especially since phones like the iPhone already have a compass app built in. But it is definitely easier to use a GPS navigation app with a compass. Aside from that, the iOS GPS & Maps app doesn’t have much else to offer.
Even though the app is useful, we think it’s not as good as other iPhone navigation apps, like the ones we mentioned above, because they have almost the same features and don’t charge extra.
GPS Coordinates app
The people who made it made it so that people who installed it could download, share, and save coordinates so that they could use them in the future. There is also a standard feature that lets you find a user’s GPS coordinates by giving them an address and changing how the app map looks. You can show both a regular map layout and a satellite view.
