- Using the screwdriver that came with it, take out the security screws at the bottom of the faceplate. Put the screwdriver’s tip in the hole and turn it anticlockwise until the screw comes out.
- After taking out all of the security screws, push the bottom of the cover until it comes loose. Put both thumbs on the bottom of the cover, and rest the index and middle fingers on the front. While in that position, push the faceplate until it breaks free.
- If you can’t get the faceplate off with your thumbs, you can try prying it off with something flat, like a butter knife. Put it under the bottom edge of the cover and push it up. Be careful, though, because this could damage the cover or even the Ring Doorbell.
- As soon as it’s free, pull it away from the body of the doorbell. Now that you’ve taken off the cover, you can see what’s inside the Ring Doorbell. Make sure the faceplate doesn’t fall.
- If you want to put the faceplate you just took off back on, make sure the plastic hook inside the cover is lined up with the hole on the doorbell’s body. Set the hook at a 45-degree angle with the cover, and then snap the cover back.
- Put the screws back in place and tighten them. Put the screws back in the bottom of the cover and make sure they are tight.
