Even though MacBook’s have dynamic desktops, we can only use the old screensavers. But Apple lets you use a third-party app to help you choose from images or videos that have already been installed. To help you do the same, I’ll show you how to Set Video Screensaver on Mac and Windows in this article.
We have cool desktops, but we have to use boring old screensavers. Except that you can change that to a new video screensaver with the right software and settings. People often confuse screensavers with wallpaper, which is probably a sign that we don’t really need them anymore. Even though images no longer burn into our CRT monitors, blank screens still look very boring.

Set Video Screensaver on Windows
Set video file as screensaver
This is the easiest way to make a screensaver because you don’t have to change your video file into an executable file. In this method, we use “Video Screensaver Maker,” a small programme that lets us use a video file as a screensaver.
Downloading the Video Screen Saver Maker software from here is the first step in this method. Video Screen Saver Maker can play AVI, MPEG, and WMV video files as a random screensaver. That is, you can choose a group of Video files to play as a screensaver.
Create screen saver from a video file
This method is longer than the last one because we are making a real screensaver. Here, the benefit is that you can share the video screensaver file with your friends, and the new screensaver can be used on any Windows computer without the need for a third-party programme.
If you don’t have video files in FLV format, this guide will show you how to use two free tools. You can use a free converter like SuperVideo to change any video file into FLV format. When you have video in FLV format, you can download and install a programme called “InstantStorm.” With the InstantStorm utility, you can make screensavers based on Flash that have many advanced features.
