On the outside, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite 2022 looks the same as the previous model, but there are some changes inside. This time Samsung has replaced its own Exynos chipset with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, supported by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of internal storage. As usual, an LTE 4G-equipped version is also available.
The S6 Lite is not a high-end gaming tablet. The iPad 9 is a much better choice at this price point. Nevertheless, it can play most games. This includes Fortnite, which runs quite well if you set the graphics settings to the lowest. Just like the previous model. However, turning up the graphics a little too much causes too much stuttering.
The display has not changed compared to two years ago. It has the same 10.4-inch LCD with a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels. Text and icons look sharp enough, but it cannot keep up with competitors who are just a little more expensive. The screen is fully laminated and fairly bright, but not as bright as the iPad 9. Viewing angles are wide and colours are good, much better than the Galaxy Tab A7 and A8.Widevine Level is L1, so you can watch streaming services such as Netflix in HD quality.HDR is not supported. The screen is also very bright, but not as bright as the iPad 9.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a well-rounded iPad competitor and is arguably the best non-premium tablet the company has ever released, from the inclusion of the S Pen to the software customisation options and a fairly robust and good-looking design. Strengths. However, performance issues can affect the overall user experience: the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite ships with an S Pen stylus, which is a useful addition when drawing, sketching and taking notes. However, if you get the book cover (which we tested with the tablet, as shown in the image), there is a compartment for the stylus.
However, colours sometimes looked a little blurry when compared to the displays on other devices, and the low resolution was sometimes noticeable when playing games or watching movies. Nevertheless, depending on the streaming service or subscription package you watch, this resolution may be sufficient, and unless you have access to 4K content, you may find this tablet to be off the mark.
Furthermore, the 5:3 aspect ratio is only one step down from 16:9 (15:9 to be exact), the aspect ratio in which many TV shows and streaming movies are broadcast. This means that when viewing content, there will not be a prominent black band at the top and bottom of the screen like on an iPad with a 4:3 display. This is because the blacks are displayed much brighter thanks to LCD display technology.
