There isn’t much to say about the S98’s design. It is an industrial design that uses a metal framework coated in rubber to absorb shock. It is a tried-and-true pattern. With a 6.3-inch display and a hefty battery, the size and weight of this phone (172 x 82 x 15.5mm and 320g respectively) are comparable to those of two other competitors, the Oukitel WP17 and the Ulefone Armor 10 5G. The 30mm circular display that is sandwiched between the LED flash and four sensors at the back is the main draw. More on that later.
6.3-inch display with full HD+ resolution, pinhole selfie camera sensor, and Corning Gorilla glass covering make up the front screen (the rear display also gets it). The SIM card slot and a programmable button are on the left, and the volume rocker, power button, and separate fingerprint reader are on the right (although we’d rather to have them merged). On the bottom edge, a USB Type-C port is concealed behind a flap. The S98 complies with MIL-STD 810G requirements and IP68/IP69 standards as expected.
You’ll be happy to learn that the DooGee S95 Pro has a quick Helio P90 chipset for performance and general usage. This prevents the phone from overheating or producing any latency and keeps everything working smoothly. On this tough smartphone, you’ll also find a potent quad-camera array with a 48MP primary sensor on the back and an 18MP front camera. The display on the S95 Pro also won us over. Although it lacks any oleophobic coating, it is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for increased toughness.
Additionally, it has a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The phone’s powerful 5150 mAh battery is amazing. The DooGee S95 Pro also has an intriguing modular attachment architecture that makes it simple to add and remove add-ons, like a 3500mAh battery pack or potent speakers, which are offered separately. Your equipment and electronics will remain safe if you place this phone inside the best tactical bag.
Its biggest draw is probably the massive 8,380mAh battery, which Blackview claims will provide 720 hours of standby time, 32 hours of calling, or 10 hours of gaming. It charges fast, too, thanks to support for 33W fast charging, which means it only takes 90 minutes for a complete recharge. It has a 4G octa-core MediaTek G96 processor, 8GB RAM, and 128GB of storage. Don’t expect the world from this configuration, but it should be good enough as long as you’re not firing up the newest 3D games. It’s powered by Android 11, which is outdated but should be sufficient to keep it running well.
