The 235 is primarily a watch for runners, but its more pricey relative, the Forerunner 735XT, is just as good and is better suited for serious triathletes. This watch can monitor your performance in a variety of activities, such as running, cycling, and swimming. It also features an optical heart-rate sensor, interval training, all-day activity tracking, and phone notification capabilities. With the stroke of a single button, the triathlon-specific function can time transitions and swap between different sport profiles.
Once the data has been uploaded to Garmin’s Connect platform (accessible for Android, iPhone, and on the web), the information regarding ascent and descent will be automatically adjusted; nevertheless, this will not be of assistance to athletes who are searching for real-time statistics. It is both lightweight and waterproof, and it features a GPS that can track a number of sports as well as an optical heart-rate sensor.

There is a multisport option that allows you to time triathlon transitions and swap sport profiles with ease. It is compatible with a comprehensive selection of Garmin’s accessories.

Where to get Garmin Forerunner 735XT?
The 735XT is an outstanding watch for triathletes, and I had a lot of fun wearing it. It is comfortable, and it comes equipped with practically all of the functions that are required for professional competition. However, if you rely on accurate altitude information, a quick release kit, or are looking for something with longer battery life, upgrading to the Fenix 3 or Fenix 3 HR may be worthwhile.
There is a unique UltraTrac mode that can stretch the battery life to 24 hours, but this comes at the expense of other features. In the UltraTrac mode, the heart rate sensor will be turned off, and the frequency at which the GPS will ping the satellite will be decreased. The Garmin 735XT is a fantastic watch for a wide variety of sports, but it really comes into its own as a triathlon watch.
Due to recent price reductions, in some sales it’s also an extremely tempting running watch, which means that you’d be hard-pressed not to buy it up together with the heart rate monitor that enhances it.
