The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II are Bose’s latest offering in the truly wireless space, replacing the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds. Completely redesigned, you will hardly recognize them in this new iteration. Instead of a built-in concha fin, it features wraparound fins in three different sizes. In addition, the buds have been changed to a lollipop shape with a stem instead of a lump of plastic, giving it a more sophisticated design. In this way, the case shows that the company has neatly avoided the size issues that users have pointed out in the past.
The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II left a lot to be desired in terms of feel. The earbuds still have many of the problems we had with earlier Bose products. We often encountered the “fun” problem of the conch fins spinning on the smooth plastic of the earbuds, causing the contacts to not align with the case when closed. As a result, pairing with a new device, updating firmware, or charging may not work as expected. If this problem occurs, rotate the fins until the prongs lock into the notches on the back of the earphones and out of the earphone cavity in the case.

The case is also about 40% smaller, making it truly pocketable (although it is still 25% to 30% larger than the AirPods Pro 2 case ……) The AirPods Pro 2 case is also about 40% smaller than the AirPods Pro 2. This smaller size makes up for the major drawback of the original QuietComfort Earbuds, which were quite heavy and stuck out of the ear, while offering excellent noise cancellation and superior sound quality. According to Bose, the new earbuds weigh just under 0.25 ounces (7 grams) each, which is still not light, but much smaller.
The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II Truly Wireless are the next generation of the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds Truly Wireless. If noise isolation is important to you, you will want to check these buds out. Like its predecessors, Bose’s Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) system allows the company to block out background noise better than competitors such as the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd generation) Truly Wireless and Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3 and other competitors.
Bose has also redesigned the buds themselves, making them less bulky, more customizable, and improving overall comfort and fit. A carrying case is also available at an additional cost compared to the previous model. The comfortable fit and small, lightweight design also make it highly portable. Battery life is more than six and a half hours continuous, and the carrying case can be recharged three times. The Bose QuietComfort 2 are Bluetooth-only headphones and cannot be used wired.
