The Redragon K552 KUMARA RGB is a good mechanical gaming keyboard with tactile switches that click and a simple, useful TenKeyLess design. It has a great build, great RGB lighting, and each key is individually backlit. It can compete with keyboards that cost twice as much.
Unfortunately, the keyboard doesn’t have many extra features, and the Outema Blue switches are loud and may not be the best choice for offices where people want to be quiet. But because of its low price, it’s still a good choice for people who want a basic mechanical keyboard that works well.
The Redragon K552 is well put together. It’s made of both hard plastic and metal, and the keyboard doesn’t bend or feel weak in any way. The keycaps are made of doubleshot ABS, and the keys are stable, but the spacebar moves a little bit. It’s easy enough to use.
It only has one angle, and the keyboard is pretty high, so it might be more comfortable with a wrist rest. However, it doesn’t come with one. This keyboard is different from the nearly identical AUKEY KM-G9 in that it has full RGB backlighting.
But since there isn’t any official software support right now, you have to change things on the keyboard itself. You can switch between 18 different lighting effects and set the colour of each key. Because the colours aren’t mixed well, there is a lot of colour bleed between the keys. This is clear in our “white shot” photo, where the backlighting makes a completely white area look pink or purple.
