The Sony HT-S100F is a decent sound bar, but it doesn’t have much bass. This 2.0 setup doesn’t have a dedicated, wireless sub, so it has trouble making low bass frequencies. On the plus side, it makes voices sound very clear and accurate.
The bar can also get quite loud. It doesn’t have support for height channels or Atmos, so it won’t give you the most immersive experience, but the surround sound is always on. Also, the soundstage isn’t very big, and it seems even smaller than the bar. It also doesn’t work with DTS, which is a shame, and it doesn’t have any Full HDMI In ports.
There is a lot to like about this soundbar, but some people might not like some of its features. Even though it was a smaller soundbar, the sound quality was there in terms of presence and even volume. Even when you’re just watching TV, the sound quality is much better than what you get from the TV’s speakers.
The voices were clear and easy to hear, and the sound effects were great. It changes everything and makes the whole thing a lot of fun. This soundbar can also get loud enough to be heard, and it does a good job of keeping its cool when it does.
I thought the surround sound feature of S-Force Pro was pretty good, but I didn’t think it was a good replacement for an Atmos emulation or even a traditional surround setup. But even so, there was something like an improved soundstage that definitely made the experience better. It would have been nice to have these things as well.
Again, setting it up was very easy and only required one HDMI cable. It was really cool that I could use the same remote to control both the TV and the soundbar. About remotes, the one that came with it was easy for beginners to use and felt solid in the hand. It even came with batteries!
It had no trouble connecting to Bluetooth, and it was easy to find the device it was paired with. Also, there is no built-in subwoofer, so it probably won’t have the thunderous lows that subs are known for. There is a bass reflex speaker, and it does a good job for what it is. However, when there was a lot of action or a bass drop, for example, the bass seemed a little quieter than usual.
