Fitbit Versa 3 has new features. One of them is a built-in GPS that lets the smartwatch track your pace, distance, and workout intensity outside, even when you don’t have your phone with you. Now, the Versa can track your location even when you leave your phone at home and work out outside. Another is a bigger and better display. It also has Bluetooth 5.0, a new “button” on the side that gives haptic feedback, and the Active Zone Minutes function.
At first glance, it seems like Fitbit didn’t change the way the Versa looks. But the company has been slowly reducing the number of physical buttons. The first device had three physical buttons, but the Versa Lite and Versa 2 only have one.
[content-egg-block template=offers_logo hide=price]Now, there are no buttons at all. Instead, there is an indentation on the left side that acts as a pressure-sensitive “inductive” button, just like the one on the Fitbit Charge 3. It has the same 1.58-inch, 336-by-336-pixel AMOLED display as the Sense. The screen is pretty, but sometimes it’s hard to get it to do what you want.
The Fitbit Versa 3 is a great smartwatch that does a lot of different things well. If you want to track your overall health, check your notifications, listen to music, and do simple tasks without touching your phone, the Versa 3 can do all of those things and more. The Fitbit Sense is the best in every way.
As usual with Fitbits, their battery life is something Apple can only dream about. The company says the Versa 3 should be charged for six days, which seems about right, even with a few GPS-tracked runs. Note, though, that if you turn on the always-on display, this time will be cut in half, to about 48 hours. Because of this, it’s turned off by default, but it’s nice to have the choice.
At 50 meters or 5 atmospheres, the Versa 3 has one of the best water resistance ratings of the watches. You can take it in the shower or while doing exercises in the pool. The watch comes with its own charger, which is held securely in place on the back by magnets. The magnets make a very strong connection, and the charger wouldn’t come off without a lot of force and shaking.
The Fitbit Versa 3 is probably the best smartwatch for Android users who want a watch that does everything. Android users won’t find a competing product that does everything the Versa 3 does for this low of a price. Even so, the watch is not perfect. You’ll have to decide if the few downsides are worth the money you’ll save. Overall, though, this is likely to give the average person everything they need and want.
