The HP Chromebook 14 (2021) is a budget Chrome OS laptop. It is part of the HP 14a-na0000 series of Chromebooks. It is available with Intel Celeron or Pentium Silver CPUs, integrated graphics, 4GB or 8GB of memory and up to 128GB of eMMC storage. There are also multiple screen options; you can choose between a TN 720p panel (with or without support for touch input) and a 1080p IPS panel.
HP’s Chromebook is not exactly a high-end PC, yet it is a sleek, streamlined device. The tapered body is 18 mm thick at its thickest point. At 1.7 kg, it’s also fairly light, but not as heavy as Toshiba’s 13.3-inch Chromebook 2 and 2.97 kg. That extra weight gives you a slightly larger screen, though, and the Chromebook 14 doesn’t feel heavy in the hand at all.

Where to get HP Chromebook 14?
The casing itself is all plastic, and it flexes and creaks a bit when you adjust the screen or pick it up with one hand. On the plus side, the casing has no visible screws, so you don’t have to worry about a loose screen randomly falling out.
Oh, and it’s blue. Very blue. Like, pool blue. The shade of blue, which HP calls Sky Blue, looks cool, but it’s not for everyone. A white keyboard and lid offset all the vibrant blue, but it makes our Chromebook 14 the PC equivalent of a Smurf. (Whether that’s a good or bad thing depends on your taste in ’80s cartoons.)
There’s no shortage of inputs on the Chromebook 14. On the left side you’ll find an HDMI output, a security slot, a USB 3.0 port, a headphone jack and a MicroSD card slot. On the right side you’ll find the power connector and two USB 2.0 ports. Ideally, we would have liked all three USB ports to support USB 3.0, but there is enough connectivity for most users.
Armed with an Intel Celeron N3350 CPU and 4GB of RAM, the Chromebook 14 has enough power for simple daily tasks, but don’t try to run demanding apps on this budget machine. The Chromebook 14 scored a paltry 2,733 on the Geekbench 4 overall performance test, lagging far behind the Chromebook C523NA (4,698), the Chromebook 5190 (4,193) and the Chromebook average (4,747). The AMD version of the Chromebook 14 performed even worse (1,283).
