The company plans to make two step-up models with 16GB of RAM. One will be sold at HP.com with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H chip and Radeon RX 6500M, and the other will be sold at Best Buy with a Core i7-12650H chip and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti. At the time this was written, HP only sold Ryzen 5 systems, but Best Buy had the Core i7 configuration for $1,099.99.
No matter which version you get, the Victus 15 has a 15.6-inch, non-touch screen with a resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels. (You can choose to add a 300-nit low-blue-light panel.) Our review unit’s screen has a fairly wide viewing angle, sharp details, good contrast, and white backgrounds that don’t look too dirty. But the colors are dull and lifeless instead of bright and full of life. If it didn’t have a 144Hz refresh rate instead of the usual 60Hz, we’d say it was a completely forgettable economy-class screen.

Where to get HP Victus 15.6″ Gaming Laptop PC?
The plastic chassis of the Victus 15 measures 0.93 by 14.1 by 10 inches and weighs 5.06 pounds. It comes in our dark gray Mica Silver or, for an extra $10, in Performance Blue or Ceramic White. That is smaller than the Nitro 5(1.06 by 14.1 by 10.7 inches, 5.51 pounds) and the same size as the Katana GF66 (0.98 by 14.1 by 10.2 inches, 4.96 pounds).
HP says that the Victus 15 has an 82.2% screen-to-body ratio. The side bezels are thin, but the top (which has a webcam with no privacy shutter) and bottom bezels are bigger. If you grab the corners of the screen, there is a lot of flex. If you press the keyboard deck, there isn’t much flex. As with many gaming laptops, you won’t find a fingerprint reader or a face recognition webcam to speed up Windows Hello logins.
