The 620 is the first product in Kwikset’s Home Connect line. This line is meant to make it easier to tell which locks can be connected to a smart-home system. With this kind of connection, you can do things like lock and unlock your phone from afar and get updates on its status. The 620 is what Kwikset calls a “entry level” solution because of how much it costs. The 620 was supposed to start selling through the professional chain in September 2021. Later that year, it would be sold to consumers.
All of the screws you need, including the ones for the strike, are included. The screws for the interior assembly and the cover have blunt tips and are less than half an inch long. Tu says that you shouldn’t use wood screws with pointed tips, especially when putting the lock together, because they could go through the motor housing and make the lock useless.

Where to get Kwikset Home Connect 620 smart lock?
The ANSI/BHMA Grade 2 certified Home Connect 620 can be used as a stand-alone lock. The deadbolt can be turned with a key or a PIN code entered on the 10-button numerical push-button keypad. The code can be between four and eight digits long, and the 620 can store up to 250 codes.
This is better than other Kwikset smart locks, which could only store 30 codes. With a single push on the “Kwikset” button, the door is locked. There is no wiring involved. All you have to do is connect the cable that goes from the outside assembly to the battery pack inside, which holds four standard AA batteries.
The 620 has a SmartKey keyway, which is known for its ability to be rekeyed and its resistance to being picked or bumped. The 620, on the other hand, will only have the SmartKey KW1 keyway. Tu says that the company doesn’t have any plans to make the 620 work with the newer SmartKey Schlage SC1 keyway.
