The Razer Ornata V3 is part of the company’s affordable Ornata line. Like its predecessor, the Razer Ornata V2, the V3 uses Razer’s Mecha Membrane switches, which are membrane switches that have the distinct “ping” of a clicky Blue mechanical switch.
But this updated version lacks a lot of the things that made the V2 a good choice right out of the box, like the soft wrist rest, the ability to change the lighting for each key, and the dedicated volume knob. Instead, the V3 is a simpler choice for those on a budget who want a simple gaming keyboard.

Where to buy Razer Ornata V3 keyboard?
In Synapse, there are four Quick Effects: Audio Meter, Breathing, Spectrum Cycling, and Static. The Spectrum Cycling mode looks great, and you won’t even notice that it only lights up one zone. The 10-zone backlighting on the non-X version will allow for more colour modes, but I was fine with this.
On full brightness, the keyboard has a strong underglow, and the keycap shinethrough looks especially good because the plungers don’t block any light. You can’t change colour modes with the Fn layer, and you have to download Razer Synapse to do so.
The case is made of plastic, and it’s made well enough. There is some bending, which is normal for a thin case like this. The Ornata v3 X has two foldouts that make it possible to type at angles of 6 and 9 degrees. There is also a way to route cables on the keyboard, so you can do this based on how your desk is set up.
Razer Synapse is used by the Ornata v3 X. Remember that you can now use the software as a Guest. No longer is it necessary to sign in. On Synapse, you can remap on the standard layer, and if you switch to Hypershift, you have full control over the Fn layer. Having the ability to map your own Fn layer is a very useful feature of Razer keyboards.
That’s the price for the regular Ornata V3, but the new Ornata V3 X is even cheaper. This model only has one zone of RGB lighting, and it doesn’t have the media control keys like the Ornata V3. Other than that, it’s the same.
