Ring’s Video Doorbell 4 aims to make at least one part of getting these kinds of gadgets easier: installing them. Instead of just using the wiring you already have, Ring gives you the option to wire it directly into your system or use the rechargeable battery that comes with it for easy placement. In theory, that means it could be used by anyone who wants to put a video doorbell on the front of their house.
However, since video doorbells are becoming more common, the cost of a contract might limit who can use this camera. No matter how your house or apartment is set up, the Ring Video Doorbell 4 is easy to set up. If you already have a doorbell, you should probably go with the wired option so you don’t have to worry about taking the battery out. In my case, not only is my old doorbell broken, but the frame of my house is too small for Ring’s big body to fit.

Where to get Ring Video Doorbell 4?
This is where the battery that can be taken out and charged comes in. Because of this, you can drill and put the doorbell anywhere on your house. For example, I put mine on the shutters next to the door. Once I found a place for the camera, it only took a few minutes to put it in place. The battery cover is held on by a security screw that works with a tool that comes with the phone to pop the battery out. It’s a good idea, but you’ll need to keep that tool safe if you want the doorbell to stay charged.
No matter if your doorbell is wired or wireless, the Ring Doorbell 4 does not allow continuous monitoring. Instead, you can only record events, but paid users can turn on a picture mode that takes a photo every three minutes. Aside from the doorbell itself, you get mounting hardware, a charging cable, and the standard set of instructions and documentation. Ring also comes with a corner kit that lets you tilt the ring as needed.
