The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 aren’t the best earbuds on the market, but they work well as a regular headset. Most people will be happy with the sound quality, and even though the noise cancellation isn’t the best, it’s pretty good for the price. Even so, it might be hard to justify buying this over the more advanced Galaxy Buds Pro or the more comfortable and cheaper Galaxy Buds Plus.
Samsung’s headsets always have a lot of advanced technology and sensors, and this one is no different. When you take out the buds, a reliable proximity sensor automatically stops or starts the music. When you put the earbuds back in, playback doesn’t start again. You have to tap either touch panel instead.
[content-egg-block template=offers_logo hide=price]Like the controls on older Samsung headphones, the touch controls are both easy to use and very sensitive. When adjusting the earbuds, the Galaxy Buds 2 often picks up accidental taps, which makes the media skip and pause in a crazy way. To avoid this, the only thing you can do is turn off all touch controls.

Where to get SAMSUNG Galaxy Buds 2?
By default, a single tap on either earbud starts or stops the music, a double tap plays the next track, and a triple tap plays the previous track. You can’t change the way these controls work, but you can change what happens when you touch and hold the left and right buds. You can use this action to switch between ANC and ambient sound modes, call your voice assistant, change the volume, or open Spotify right away if you want to.
The sound of the Buds 2 will appeal to people who like a lot of bass in their music. The default sound profile has a lot of weight in the low end, so a Drum and Bass Classics playlist on Spotify has basslines with a lot of punch. The Buds 2 definitely have sound that most people will like, which is what Samsung wants from its cheapest earbuds.
The Buds 2 don’t have some of the extra features found on the Buds Pro, like 360 Audio, which is similar to Apple’s spatial audio and now works with more Samsung devices, and the ability to pause your music and switch from noise-canceling to ambient mode when you speak, so you can have a quick conversation while wearing the buds. They also have a proximity sensor, so when you take out both earbuds, the music stops (most earbuds do this when you take out one). An accelerometer and gyroscope are also listed as features, so they do have some high-end features.
