The Sennheiser HD 280 Pro are good for neutral listening. They sound good, with a good range of bass, midrange, and highs. The instruments and vocals were loud enough, but they didn’t have as much depth and clarity as other neutral-sounding headphones like the DT 770 and the ATH-M50x. The soundstage isn’t great, which isn’t great for more neutral users, but the sound quality is good enough for most people.
After the drivers that make the sound, comfort is the most important part of the creation of a pair of headphones for a recording studio. Sessions are very long. People sweat, and gravity makes caps press against their heads. The HD 280 Pro does a great job of stopping you from getting tired during long sessions. Sure, if you don’t take them off for hours at a time, the ear cups might get sweaty and the headband might be a little uncomfortable.

Where to get Sennheiser Professional HD 280 PRO?
There are headphones with softer ear pads, like the NuForce HP-800, but it’s unlikely that many people will find the HD 280 Pro uncomfortable. It also stops up to 30 dB of room noise without the user doing anything. There will be some sound leakage if you blast these while recording near a mic, but not as much as with an open pair. If you listen at low levels, the circumaural (around the ear) fit keeps most sounds from leaking out. The ear cups are swivel-mounted, so they automatically change to the shape of your head for an even better fit. The cap is easy to change and stays put.
The HD 280 Pro doesn’t have a wire that can be taken off like the NuForce HP-800 does. Even though the HD 280 Pro doesn’t have a detachable cable, it’s a newer design than the HP-800, and detachable cords are becoming more and more important in design. But it would be great if Sennheiser made this change, since a detachable cord can make your headphones last a lot longer. When a pair of headphones stops working, the cable is usually to blame. Replacing the cable instead of replacing or fixing the whole thing is a much cheaper choice.
