The HD660S looks a lot like the HD600, but instead of the glossy black finish of the HD600 and HD650, it has a simple flat black finish. Even though it’s mostly made of plastic, the build feels strong. The clamp isn’t too strong, but the soft velour earpads do a good job of keeping it in place and making the fit comfortable.
Even though the HD600 series has dynamic drivers, they have never been easy to drive. The HD600 had an impedance of 300 ohm and a sensitivity of 97dB, but the HD660S has an impedance of 150 ohm and a sensitivity of 104dB. (for sensitivity a higher number means easier to drive). This makes it much easier to drive the HD660S than any of the other HD600 models.

Where to get SENNHEISER HD 660S?
Good for listening without bias. Their bass is very good, consistent, and punchy. Their mid-range is well-balanced and clear, and their treble is also very good. But their bass sounds muddy and lacks a bit of thump. They also sound a bit mid-ranged and forward. Also, their high notes aren’t as clear as they could be, making them sound a little muffled. Overall, they are great headphones that can be used with a wide range of music, but they might not have enough sub-bass for music with a lot of bass.
Not very good at sports. Even though these headphones fit snugly on the head, they shouldn’t be used for sports. They aren’t portable, and because they seal tightly around your ears, you will sweat more than usual. Also, because they are wired, you’ll have a cord in the way when you’re working out.
The bass sounds tight and natural, and it rolls off into the subbass a little bit. The midbass has enough punch to keep the HD660S from sounding “bass light,” but without the low end extension, hip-hop and electronic music will sound a little empty. I did some pad rolling with Dekoni’s Elite pads for the HD600 series, and I can strongly recommend hybrid pads for people who want to add a little more bass. The change in pads gave the midbass a noticeable boost and made some small changes to the way the bass went down.
