Even though the LinkBuds S are small, their specs are big. With the exception of multi-point pairing, it’s probably not worth having a feature that these Sony true wireless in-ears don’t have. Bluetooth 5.2 lets you join wirelessly. It works with SBC, AAC, and LDAC codecs, but not aptX, which is typical for Sony products. Still, if you have a smartphone that supports LDAC and the right specs for it, the LinkBuds S are comfortable high-resolution headphones.
They use the same V1 processor as the Sony WF-1000XM4 that cancels noise and processes sound, but it feeds a new 5mm full-range dynamic driver that is smaller than the XM4. The earbuds themselves can last from 6 to 9 hours, based on whether or not the active noise-cancellation feature is turned on. The small charging case can hold up to two more full charges. Which means that the battery life is very good. Even though it’s not the best in its class, the buds that do better are much bigger and heavy. The AirPods Pro, which are also small and light, can only last 4.5 hours on a single charge with ANC on, so Sony has a big lead there.

Where to get Sony LinkBuds S Truly Wireless earbuds?
Noise reduction can be turned on or off using the control app or the capacitive touch surface on each earbud. There is also a “Ambient sound” option with 20 different settings that lets you let in anywhere from “a hint” to “a torrent” of outside sound if you want to. In the “Headphones” control app, you can also change the EQ, choose between “sound quality” and “connection stability” for Bluetooth, and rearrange the touch buttons, among other things.
It’s the same app that high-end Sony headphones use, and it works and stays stable here just as well as anywhere else. The touch controls work well and are stable, and the LinkBuds have Alexa built in and can also work with Google Assistant. Behind a small circle of mesh, you can see the external mics on the outside of each earbud. These mics handle voice control and phone calls.
