The SteelSeries Aerox 3 is a great wired gaming mouse that is very light. It has a lightweight honeycomb body that is almost the same as the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless. It also has the same ambidextrous shape that is best for a claw or fingertip grip. The PTFE feet are great and make the skates glide smoothly, but the cable is a bit stiff and can’t be changed.
It has a standard button layout with two thumb buttons on the left side. All of the buttons can be programmed through the software, where you can also change the performance settings and customise the three RGB lighting zones. It has a narrower CPI range and a higher lift-off distance than its wireless sibling, so it uses a different sensor. Also, you can’t save macros, even though it has onboard memory. The SteelSeries Aerox 3 has taken the place of this mouse (2022).

Where to get SteelSeries Aerox 3 gaming mouse?
SteelSeries’ Quantum 2.0 Wireless technology powers the wireless connection, which uses either 2.4GHz wireless or Bluetooth. Everyone has a fancy name for their wireless dongles these days, and we won’t deny SteelSeries the chance to brag that its tech is also fast and reliable.
Quantum 2.0 also works, and I didn’t notice any lag or dropouts while I was using it. You can switch between the 2.4GHz wireless connection and the built-in Bluetooth connection using a switch on the bottom of the mouse. This gives you a little more freedom between devices. As expected, Bluetooth is noticeably slower and may cause some problems when gaming quickly. This sensor can handle up to 18,000 CPI (not DPI), and the button behind the scroll wheel makes it easy to switch between CPI and DPI profiles. Not much out of the ordinary. Each CPI stage set in the SteelSeries Engine software is shown by a different colour on the RGB LEDs, which flash before going back to your custom lighting profile.
When it comes to the Engine software, the Aerox 3 gives you a lot of freedom to change things. When you start the app and go to the mouse-specific settings, you’ll see a large number of dials, graphs, actions that can be changed, and macro settings that you can change to your liking.
The SteelSeries Aerox 3 is an excellent product in many respects. It has a solid grip that doesn’t get sweaty and is more accommodating to lefties than the majority of gaming mouse. It weighs 2.08 ounces, which makes it lighter than other honeycomb-style mice such as the Glorious Model O. The RGB customisation looks on point.
