Let’s go straight to the point: the Tribit Stormbox Blast has an appearance that is about as understated as a brick decked up in Christmas tree lights breaking in through your (presumably closed) window. It’s a large cuboid made of black plastic, and it would be an understatement to suggest that the branding, RGB lighting panels, and flashing LEDs around the drivers are a little too much for our tastes. But that’s exactly how we feel. However, this is the last point when harsh criticism will be made.
Specifications
- Meaty, room-filling, talented sound
- Simple and easy-to-use control panel
- USB-C charging of your other devices
The Stormbox Blast is the largest and most powerful Bluetooth speaker in Tribit’s ever-growing arsenal of portable speakers. It produces a sound that is every bit as detailed – even when played at greater volumes – as models from more well-known audio specialists that cost three times as much. If you want a speaker that will really get the party started, this is one of the greatest party speakers that we’ve tried out.
It is heavier than most of the best Bluetooth speakers that are currently available (5.45 kg, to be exact), but, unlike some of the best wireless speakers we’ve tested, Tribit is unconcerned with multi-room support, voice assistance, or accessing your Wi-Fi for higher-quality streaming – although you can pair two of them in stereo, and there is a companion app. In addition, Tribit is not concerned with multi-room support.
Where to get Tribit StormBox Blast Portable Speaker?
Close your eyes and its 90W output, which is handled via two 4.2-inch 30W woofers and two 1.2-inch 15W tweeters, is not far off the performance you’d expect from a set of decent entry-level bookshelf stereo speakers. Oh how we wish that Tribit’s talented audio engineers had run the finished product past a design team a few more times, to ask if all 32 LED lights should really flash at every beat (or were even necessary at all).
