In terms of aesthetics, the Tab P11 Plus follows in the footsteps of its more expensive sibling, Lenovo’s Tab P11 Pro. It looks a little more sophisticated than other Android slates in this price range: at 10.7 x 6.5 x 0.3 inches (height) and 17.3 ounces, it is both slim and light enough to hold comfortably for extended periods. It is also sized for basic production tasks, online classes and drawing.
The back of the tablet is made of a semi-matt aluminium material which, with the exception of the rubber edge at the top, is easy to keep clean. There is a small camera module in the top left-hand corner of the back, with the Lenovo and Dolby brand marks in the bottom centre. When the tablet is in landscape mode, the volume buttons are located on the left side of the top edge and the microSD slot on the right.
Pogo pins for connecting accessories are located on the bottom rail. On the right edge are two speakers and a USB-C charging port, while on the left side are two more speakers and a power button. Unfortunately, the power button does not have a built-in fingerprint sensor, so to protect the tablet you have to enter a PIN, passcode or rely on Android’s mediocre Face Unlock feature.
Despite its affordable price, the Tab P11 Plus performs like a champ. Apps open instantly, swiping between screens doesn’t lag and this tablet handles multitasking with ease. It also does a decent job with games. Loading of ‘Gods of Illusion’ was a little slow, with frames jumping a few times during an hour of gameplay, but it wasn’t an issue that bothered us too much. The less resource-intensive Alto’s Journey also ran smoothly, with no performance issues.
The Lenovo Tab P11 Plus is powered by a MediaTek Helio G90T processor and can run most apps: watching curated videos on Android’s Entertainment Space, looking up recipes and web browsing, or solving the day’s Wordle, the Tab P11 Plus did it all with aplomb in my day-to-day use, and when I started playing graphics-intensive games such as Asphalt 9 and Iron Blade, the tablet’s weaknesses began to show.
