The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G85 is a mid-range SLR-style mirrorless camera featuring 4K video recording, second-generation 5-axis image stabilization, and a 16MP four-thirds sensor without an optical low-pass filter. Depending on the market, it is also marketed as the Panasonic G80, G81, and G8.
The G85 is the successor to the G7, although Panasonic has not explicitly stated this. Both models have seemingly identical bodies with twin control dials, numerous customizable buttons, and a fully articulated touch interface that is more of a refinement than something entirely new.
The Panasonic G85 is Panasonic’s latest DSLR-style mid-range mirrorless camera, borrowing quite a bit from the earlier flagship GH4 and offering a number of high-end features. The G85 has notable upgrades, especially with respect to the camera body and 4K video The G85 offers a number of high-end features that borrow considerably from the earlier flagship model GH4. In lab and real-world testing, we were very impressed with its overall performance and capabilities. This feature-rich mirrorless camera packs a punch for both still and video camera shooters.
Multiple dials are provided on the camera to control shutter speed, exposure, aperture, and more. The dials are quite large and easy to operate. It takes some time to get used to the placement of the dials, but the learning curve is very low, especially if you have used cameras from other manufacturers, and you can easily get the hang of the placement. In fact, I personally like the design language of Nikon cameras, and I found the Lumix G85 to be just as comfortable.
