The Bose Headphones 700 Wireless are comfortable over-ear headphones that are well made and block out noise. They have a great noise-canceling feature that makes it easy to block out background noises like bus and plane engines. They also have a long battery life that makes them good for long days spent on the go. Their touch-sensitive controls aren’t always easy to use, which is a shame. Still, their built-in microphone records well, which makes them a great choice for phone calls as well.
In short, it’s a pleasure to use these headphones. The Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 have a few problems, but all in all, they are a great and powerful headset. The NCH 700 is beautiful, light, easy to use, and well-built. The Bose QC 45 and the Sony WH-1000XM5 are both newer and better than the NCH 700 in different ways, but if you want a beautiful set of headphones with great sound and ANC, you’ll fall in love with this expensive pair.
[content-egg-block template=offers_logo hide=price]You can rest the headphones around your neck because the ear cups rotate a full 90 degrees. However, Bose changed the adjustment mechanism from one with notches, which is still on the QC 45, to one that lets you slide the headphones into place. Since there are no hinges that fold, you should use the hardshell case that comes with it when travelling. The NCH 700 is different from other Bose headsets because it is made of more than just plastic. The headband is made of metal, which makes it much harder to break by accident.
But this is where the praise for the redesign stops, because the Bose 700 headphones aren’t nearly as comfortable as the older QC 35 II. The 700 doesn’t have a lot of buttons, which is something we like. The buttons that are there are thin, slightly raised, and placed along the back of the ear cups. On the right ear cup, there are buttons for Power/Pairing and the digital assistant. On the left ear cup, there are buttons for noise cancellation and conversation mode. When you press one of the three buttons, it makes a nice click and is easy to find when you’re out and about.
The change in padding materials is the main reason for this step backward. Even though the ear cushions are still soft, they are stiffer than the cushions on the QC35 II. This is great for blocking out outside noise, but when I wear the NCH 700 for a few hours at my local cafe, my ears get pretty hot. Along with a new look, the 700s got rid of the micro USB port in favour of a more modern USB Type-C port. With the new port, the headphones can be charged faster, and you can get about 3.5 hours of charge in 15 minutes. The company thinks you’ll be able to get 20 hours out of the 700s, so that’s pretty good.
