- Press Win+R to open Run window. Type regedit and hit Enter to open Registry Editor.
- Now navigate to the following location
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Policies/System
- In the right panel, you will find two keys called ‘legalnoticecaption’ and ‘legalnoticetext’. If you don’t find the keys, you have to create them. To create a new key, right click on an empty space in the right panel, go to New and select Multi-String Value. Then name it legalnoticecaption
- Similarly create the other string legalnoticetext.
- Now that you’ve made the two strings, you need to change the number of the string. If you double-tap on the legalnoticecaption, you can change the number. You can set any word you want, such as “Welcome,” “Warning,” “Alert,” etc. Next, double-tap the legalnoticetext and type any message you want.
- Restart your computer to view the changes.

- Click on the “Apple box” icon in the menu bar.
- Select System Preferences.
- Choose Security & Privacy.
- Select the “General” tab.
- Click on the lock icon at the bottom of the window.
- Enter your admin name and password.
- Choose “Set Lock Message...”
- Enter your desired message.
How To Add Lock Screen Message on iPhone
- Log in to your Hexnode MDM portal.
- Navigate to Policies > New Policy. Assign a suitable name and description (optional) for the policy. You can also choose to continue with an existing policy.
- Go to iOS > Configurations > Lock Screen Message. Click Configure.
- Add appropriate messages to be displayed:
- “If found, return to” Message: Enter a relevant message or information that may help in retrieving your devices that are lost or stolen.
- Asset Tag Information: Enter the asset tag information that is to be displayed on the login window and lock screen.
How To Add Lock Screen Message on Android phone

- Open Settings on your Android phone or Tablet.
