In this article we will discuss about how to enable Garmin Sleep Mode. Most modern Garmin watches have a feature called “Advanced Sleep Monitoring,” which tracks your sleep stages and how well your body recharges itself while you sleep. In theory, it’s supposed to be easy and automatic, so you don’t have to tell your watch that you’re going to bed first. Getting a good night’s sleep is an important part of staying healthy.
When you want to keep a closer eye on this, including the different stages of your sleep, your breathing pattern, how often you wake up at night, and other signs of your overall sleep quality, a Garmin watch can be a very useful tracker. In real life, you may need to change your Garmin sleep settings to get the best results. Some watches also let you manually start Garmin sleep tracking. Here’s how to enable Garmin Sleep Mode, as well as how to make sure it tracks your sleep correctly.
How to enable Garmin Sleep Mode
- Go to the Settings menu by pressing the Menu or Settings button.
- In the Settings menu, find the option related to Sleep or Sleep Mode (location may vary depending on your Garmin model).
- Select the Sleep Mode option to access the Sleep Mode settings.
- In the Sleep Mode settings, you can customize various aspects of sleep tracking, such as duration or automatic sleep detection.
- Adjust the settings according to your preferences. Some Garmin devices may have automatic sleep tracking, while others require you to activate Sleep Mode manually before going to bed.
- Once you’ve made the desired changes, exit the Sleep Mode settings. Your Garmin device is now ready to track your sleep.
- Wear your Garmin device while you sleep to monitor your sleep patterns and provide sleep-related data and insights.

What is Garmin Sleep Mode?
At the moment, this is hard to say for sure because the feature looks different on a Forerunner 955 Solar and a Fenix 7. But at the very least, Garmin Sleep Mode seems to be a way to change how your watch works while it’s tracking your sleep. So, if you find that your device is lighting up when you touch it by accident while you’re trying to sleep, Sleep Mode should help fix some of those problems.
We can’t find an option on our Forerunner 955 Solar to automatically turn on Sleep Mode at certain times of the day or turn off/on Battery Saver Mode as part of it. However, we know that this was possible on a Fenix 7 in the past. No matter what, you can still change things like the brightness of the screen, the settings for the watch face, and the “Do Not Disturb” mode. We’ll show you how to do that below.
