Are you wondering how to check the battery percentage of your Apple Pencil? Worry not, because in this article, we’ll show you a step-by-step guide on how to do it. Knowing the battery life of your pencil is important to ensure that it’s always ready when you need it for your tasks. So, let’s get started!
Checking the Battery Life
When your Apple Pencil is paired with your iPad, you can easily check its battery life by waking up your iPad and flicking it to the right side of the screen (from the lock screen or home screen). This will reveal the Today View and the widgets available on your device. One of the widgets is the Battery indicator that displays the remaining energy in your iPad and all connected accessories, including the Apple Pencil.
If you can’t see the Battery widget, simply swipe up to view more widgets, including the Battery widget. If it’s still not visible, you can add it by following these steps:
Adding the Battery Widget
Tap on the Edit button at the bottom of the Today View in the widgets list. Enter your fingerprint or password to unlock it when prompted. This will take you to the Add Widgets page.
The prime record shows your current active widgets. You can change the order in which they appear by dragging the three-line icons on the right of each widget. To add a new one, scroll down to find the Batteries widget, tap on the green plus beside it and drag it to the desired position in the list.
What if the Pencil is not Connected?
If your Apple Pencil is not connected to your iPad, it won’t show up in the Battery widget. In this case, connect your pencil to your iPad’s Lightning port to start charging its battery. Once it establishes a connection and has enough charge, it will ask for the device’s location and disconnect all others. Once connected, the battery percentage will be displayed in the Battery widget and will remain even when you unplug the devices.
