Live Photos are a fun way to capture moments in time, but did you know that you can share them on Facebook too? However, only iOS devices on iOS 9 or above can view the animated version of the Live Photo, while other users will see a still image. Here’s how you can share Live Photos on Facebook:
- Open the Facebook app on your iPhone
- Select a Live Photo (you can identify it by the bullseye icon on it)
- Tap done
- Scroll down the photo until you see the “Live” icon on the bottom left and tap it to enable it. Otherwise, Facebook will post only the still image.
- Tap on “Post.”
- When you view the photos on Facebook, simply press and hold them to watch the Live Photo.
Note that you can’t share Live Photos from the Photos app using the Share icon. You’ll only get the option to share a still image. It’s recommended that you add the Live Photos you want to share to a separate album for easy access on Facebook. Although the Live Photos album is present in the Photos app, it doesn’t appear when you view albums on Facebook.
