This guide shows you how to Resend Message in macOS Mail. Have you ever sent an email that you liked so much that you wanted to send it again the same way? The email might not have been sent, you might have used the wrong email address, or you might have wanted to send it to more than one person.
When you send an email to someone else, there are things you have to do. For example, the email header has information, and the original letter is shown below. But if you use Mail’s Send Again tool, you send the exact same email you sent before. With the release of macOS Ventura, Apple updated its stock Mail app with some long-awaited features, such as the ability to get back emails that were sent by mistake.
Simply put, if you immediately regret sending a message after pressing Send, you can now unsend the email so that it doesn’t get to its target, but you have to act fast. Every once in a while, an email won’t send, won’t get to the right person, or just gets lost in a busy folder. Or maybe you just want to send that email again because it was so great. In these cases, you’d want to resend an email message, which is easy to do in the Mail app for Mac OS.
How to Resend Message in macOS Mail
- Send the email.
- If you change your mind, immediately click on Undo Send at the bottom-left corner of the window. Again, you only have 10 seconds to do this. So, if you don’t see the option, the Mail app has already finished delivering the email.
- Clicking Undo Send should open the email in draft form. Correct the mistake and send it again. You can unsend it as many times as you want so long as you click Undo Send within the 10-second time frame.
Increase the Send Delay Duration in the Mail App
You can always give yourself more time before the Mail app on your Mac sends an email so that you can cancel it. To do that, do the following:
- Open the Mail app and select Mail > Settings from the macOS menu bar.
- Switch to the Composing tab.
- Under Sending, you’ll find the Undo send delay setting, which you can change to 20 or 30 seconds.
