It is a set of features that are meant to keep Pixel phones feeling “new” even after they have been out for a while. On the list are the ability to take macro videos and make both cinematic and emoji wallpapers. In the June 2023 Feature Drop, Pixel 6 and newer devices got wallpapers that look like scenes from movies.
If you haven’t heard about Cinematic Wallpapers yet, Google says that they use “AI to turn your 2D wallpaper photos into moving 3D scenes for a truly magical look.” Basically, they will make your photos on your lock screen or home screen look a bit more like movie stills. Even though it’s not a big deal, it’s nice to get a few extra things from Google while we wait for Android 14.
Some Pixel users have had the feature drop, but they can’t see some of the features, like Cinematic Wallpapers and emoji backgrounds, according to Phones Arena. In addition to Cinematic wallpapers, Google’s latest feature drop includes new security features, a better and improved camera experience, easier hands-free photos, macro focus videos, a new and improved Google Assistance with Smart Safety Check, emergency sharing, and a lot more. Read on how to set Cinematic Wallpapers on Google Pixel phone.
What are Cinematic Wallpapers?
Cinematic Wallpapers are a new feature on Google Pixel phones that use AI to make 3D wallpapers from your photos that move and change. When you move your phone, the wallpapers move and change, giving the illusion of depth and perspective. At Google I/O 2023, they talked about Android Cinematic wallpapers, as well as Generative AI wallpapers and Emoji wallpapers.
With Cinematic wallpapers, the feature lets you turn any image you already have into a more interesting 3D image that you can show off on your screen. On-device machine learning is used by cinematic wallpapers to look at an image and separate the subject from the background. This gives one of these moving wallpapers the effect of depth that it needs.
