Acer Spin 5 Review: For those who’re looking for a Core U laptop with a compact case, convertible form-factor, and an affordable price, then you want to check out the Acer Spin 5, a device that’s already available in shops and sells for $499 and up in the US and 599 EUR and up in Europe.
The Spin 5 is flexible, has a nice screen, is powerful sufficient and has the price we’re after. However, it’s not built like a MacBook. Does that matter for the cash?

Design
You shouldn’t forget how much this prices if you get it out of the box, cause the Acer Spin 5 is a little chubby and mostly built out of plastic. However, I am for sure biased by the truth that I usually review notebooks with thinner profiles and more premium materials. So when you’re a regular user coming from a regular laptop, you’ll probably find this one fairly good looking and compact.
Keyboard and Touchpad
I just like the keyboard on this laptop. However, I also assume most of you might not feel identical, and that’s because it’s shallow and its keys have quick travel. I’m handled to shallow keyboards, and this one here gives stiff keys with a good amount of resistance, and that’s why I assume it types better than my XPS 13.
On to the trackpad, it’s placed below the space key in the middle of the laptop, it’s built out of plastic, that means it’s has a little rougher and less glide texture than the glass choices, and it’s an Elan Pad surface.
Display
The 13.3-inch display has a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels (Full HD), which is average in this section. The rivals also use FHD screens, together with the more costly sibling Acer Spin 7. Audio and Graphics
