The Acer Swift Go 14, which came as a surprise as an ultraportable laptop, appears to be the same basic notebook that the company has been pumping out for several years now, with a design that we’ve seen a half-dozen times already. The notebook’s price ranges from $799.99 to $1,099.99. However, Acer has made a significant improvement this time around by incorporating an incredible piece of hardware that is able to power a stunning high-resolution OLED display.

When compared to other laptops in its price range, such as the Dell XPS 13 (9315) and the Lenovo Yoga 9i Gen 8, the Acer Swift Go 14’s $1,100 price tag gives it a significant advantage in terms of the whole value it has to offer. Acer Swift Go 14: Audio Quality

The Swift Go 14’s bottom-firing speakers are adequate, producing full and clear sound, but they never got loud enough or packed enough of a punch to really stand out. For truly remarkable sound, we advise investing in either the best bluetooth speakers or the best headphones. The language and music in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power came through clearly and loudly enough, but I couldn’t help but feel like we were missing out on something by not using headphones or an external speaker.

My listening experience of Owen Pallett’s “The Great Elsewhere” was enhanced by the Swift Go 14’s presentation of the track’s opening electric piano keys, atmospheric glitch noises, and minor blank ringing. In contrast, the low drums’ percussion entered the mix and quickly were buried by the other instruments. My favourite parts of this tune got lost in the mix, thus it would be great if the speakers could be turned up a notch.

Acer Swift Go 14: Performance

At the outset of this critique, I made the observation that the Swift Go 14 was somewhat comparable to the Swift 3. Despite this, it outperforms any Swift 3 that I’ve tried to this point, and this is true despite the fact that I’m using a different generation of processor.

That’s not terrible, but it’s not up to par with other laptops in the market. The Lenovo Slim 7 Pro stands out because it has longer battery life than competing models despite using Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics.

Final Words

We expected the Acer Swift Go 14 to be a high-end laptop for those prepared to pay a lot of money after looking at its performance numbers. Think about how astonished we were when we saw the price tag. How can its stunning display and high productivity scores just set you back $1,049? Weq couldn’t believe that such a high-quality laptop was available at such a low price. However, its inexpensive price doesn’t come without drawbacks, such as a hot bottom and a battery life that falls short of our standards.
