Ezviz’s most recent addition to its C8 line of weatherproof outdoor security cameras is called the C8W Pro. It is a significant improvement over some of the company’s earlier outdoor cameras, such as the C8C, in that it does away with the fairly unattractive exterior antenna in lieu of internal antennas that are hidden from view.
In spite of the fact that it is rather sizable, it does not give the impression that it is when it is installed on the eves of your house. In contrast to the battery-operated BC1C, which was also evaluated, the C8W Pro is powered by mains electricity and is intended to be mounted in a single location permanently.

Design and Features
There is also a built-in siren that can be set to sound automatically when a person is found or directly turned on from the live view screen in the app. Built-in LEDs can also be set to flash to scare someone away, but if you do this, you can’t also use colour night vision, which is a shame. There’s also no way to turn on LEDs manually or with a smart assistant, like you can with Netatmo’s Outdoor video.
The ability to track people is a big difference between this and the C8C, which we’ve already looked at. This is done with the help of AI built into the camera, which lets it pan and tilt as needed to follow its target wherever it moves while still in view. It will then go back to a point you set by tapping the star button below the manual pan and tilt control. You can buy this camera from its official website
Ezviz C8W Pro: Set up
You set up the camera with the EZVIZ app. After you add the camera, you’ll be asked to read the QR code on its body with your phone. The app will then show you in a few more steps how to connect to your Wi-Fi. Make sure you have a strong network link where you want to put a wireless camera before you mount it.
If you can’t get a strong signal, you can join with ethernet. With the camera’s mounting method, you can put the C8W Pro 2K on a wall or under your eaves. Screws and anchors are included, but if you need to use an ethernet link or don’t have easy access to an outdoor outlet.
Ezviz C8W Pro: Video quality
The EZViz C8W Pro has a 2K video camera. That extra bit of sharpness over full HD makes a surprising amount of difference, making everything look a little bit sharper.
The EZViz C8W Pro takes the best videos during the day. I thought it was clear and sharp, even in the back of the frame. And the video was well shot even though the camera was pointed south towards the sun. You can’t get much better than this in terms of quality without going for a higher resolution (and a higher price), like with the Arlo Ultra 2 4K video.
Ezviz C8W Pro: Performance
The C8W Pro’s 2K resolution lets it record a little more detail than 1080p cameras, and its built-in light lets it give you colour night vision. In the app, you can choose between three modes: colour, black-and-white, and smart. If you choose the second option, the IR LEDs will be used until there is action. The white LEDs then turn on to give you colour night vision.
Price & availability
You can buy a C8W Pro from Amazon for $149.99, and if you live in the UK, you can get one for £130 from EZVIZ direct, Smart Secured, or Connectec.
For local recording, you can buy a microSD card or use one you already have (up to 256GB). If you want a safer way to make sure video proof can’t be stolen, you can use Ezviz CloudPlay.
Final words
The ability to return the camera to its base station would be a great improvement. The EZViz C8W Pro, on the other hand, allows you to save your preferred locations before undertaking the task manually. This pan-and-tilt camera is an excellent buy because it has excellent people tracking capabilities, background recording, and high-quality video capture. If you don’t mind a narrow or fixed field of vision, you may find something more affordable in my guide to the best outdoor security cameras.
Ezviz C8W Pro review: The good and The bad
The Good

The Bad

FAQS
AES 128-bit encryption and TLS 1.2 encryption methods are used to secure all data at every stage of transit, from the EZVIZ cloud to the app and our products. We are extremely watchful and cautious in how we standardise all data activity.
TL;DR: Use different passwords for each site to stay safe. If you use a different password for each online account (which you should), there’s almost no chance of someone “hacking” into any of them.
