Many people who like to work out trust Garmin when it comes to fitness trackers for adults. The Garmin Vivofit Jr. 3 is its latest product for kids. Unlike Garmin’s adult version, it doesn’t have GPS, but it does have a lot of Disney features that are sure to keep kids interested. We tried the Marvel edition, which has a square face and looks like a regular watch. However, like most of the best smartwatches for kids, it has a lot of features that make exercise fun.

Which is a great way to get kids to move around. Garmin’s new tracker is in the middle to high end of the market. Garmin’s Vivofit Jr. 3 looks more like a standard watch than its predecessor, which looked more like a tracker. It has a square screen and a buckle on the strap, but the strap is made of red rubber. It’s easy to use, but a little bigger than trackers like Fitbit’s Ace 2.

It has a graphic screen that shows the time, exercise stats, and characters. This is one of its best features. We tried the red Marvel version, so superheroes were on our screen. There are also versions with the Little Mermaid, Disney princesses, and flowers for parents who don’t want a tie-in to a movie.

The display is better than the last one because it has a 64-color screen that reflects light and looks great in direct light. When it’s dark, you can turn on the lights by pressing the side button for a second. With a quick press of a button, you can move through time, steps, awards, and more on the Vivofit Jr. 3. You can also set up a screen to show details about “In Case of Emergency.”

Our kids have fun picture job charts that help them remember to do things like brush their teeth, set the table, feed the animals, etc. By adding these things to the Vivofit Jr. 3, my son can be informed of them without having to look at the chart to see what’s next.

The Garmin Vivofit Jr. 3 might be best known for its battery life. Unlike most watches, which need to be charged every few days or, in the case of the Neo, every day, Garmin’s newest one lasts about a year without being charged.

Even though we haven’t been able to test this, it’s a big selling point for kids who forget to charge their devices and parents who already have a lot to do without having to remember to charge more devices. The only problem would be if you forgot to charge your iPhone or Android phone, but let’s be honest, that’s a common problem.

Price and Availability

Launched in time to encourage more physical activity among children, the Garmin Vivofit Jr. 3 was initially unveiled in October 2020. You can still purchase this smartwatch from Garmin’s official website for the same $79.99 asking price it did upon its initial release.

Although the watch’s colour display is a pleasant touch, it’s not particularly sharp or clear, and the device’s many capabilities and elegant design leave much to be desired when compared to the likes of the Fitbit or Vodafone’s Neo. In a nutshell, it may not dazzle gadget enthusiasts and feels a bit average.
