The Govee Glide Hexa Light Panels are a unique option to the smart light bulbs that have become common in many modern homes. Having one of the best smart lights seems to be the bare least for setting up a smart home ecosystem these days, and most people go with light bulbs. Obviously, that makes sense. Most of them have a standard Edison screw base, which makes them easy to put in because they fit right into your current light bulb threads.

Many of them can work with your smart helper even without a hub. We like light panels, and the ones from Nanoleaf are our favorites. They give your lighting a little bit of a style touch. You’re not just getting a color-changing light bulb. You get a set of panels that you can use to decorate your walls and make fun shapes with. In the case of the Nanoleaf Shapes, you can also use them to control other smart home devices that work with them.

Govee Glide Hexa Light Panel review: Design

When you open the box for the Govee Glide Hexa Light Panels, you’ll find a nicely wrapped set of 0.6-inch-thick, 6.25-inch-wide Govee panels. For comparison, the Nanoleaf Shapes panels are 8 inches across. Each Govee panel comes with a snap-on fixing plate and two extra pull tapes, just like Nanoleaf’s panels. This is a phrase we’ll use a lot in this review. There is also a controller with three buttons, a big AC charger, a small level, and a “orientation” tool that helps you put the panels in the right place. You can buy this light panel from its official website
Govee Glide Hexa Light Panel: Features
After putting these panel lights up and using them for a week, I have to admit that I am more than a little in love with everything the Glide Hexa Lights have to offer. With so many features, full support for Google Assistant, and an easy-to-use interface, there’s not much not to like about this. But the question still stands: is this the best choice for every gamer who wants to improve their office setup? Grab a cup of coffee, relax, and let’s find out in our review of the Govee Glide Hexa Light Panels.
Govee Glide Hexa Light Panel review: Setup and installation

Inside the box are 10 tiles, a power source, and cables to connect them all. Nanoleaf Canvas tiles that we had just put up in the bedroom were my main point of reference. There were problems with that process, like tight corners, uneven placing, and weak adhesive strips in the box. The Govee Glide Hexa Light Panels, on the other hand, were a breath of fresh air.
Govee Glide Hexa Light Panel: Performance
The lights are very bright. When the Hexa Lights, of which we have 10 panels, were on full brightness, they lit up my whole bedroom. The brightness can be changed from your smart home app or with a voice order, so we can turn them down before bed and turn them up when I wake up.
Having these lights also takes my setup to the next level as a content maker and streamer. People don’t notice how many empty Monster cans you have piled up or how bad your wire management is because the lights are really the main attraction. They are so pretty to look at. Here’s a picture from my webcam’s point of view so you can see how they look on stream.
Price and availability
Get the basic starter kit for the Govee Glide Hexa Light Panels, which has seven panels, for $169.99 (£149.99/AU$334). That includes the glue, connections, control box, and power adapter. If you want the 10-piece kit, it will cost you a little more, exactly $199.99 (£195.99/AU$391).
If you’re used to buying light bulbs for less than $10/£10 each, it seems silly to pay that much for a set of light screens. But keep in mind that light panels, especially these, are not like other kinds of panels. Each Glide Hexa panel can show up to six different colors and can be lit from the back.
Final Words
The Govee Glide Hexa Light Panels are among the greatest products I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Everything about it, from the quality of the construction to the way it was installed, is outstanding.
When compared to other hex panel lighting systems, this one is easily distinguishable thanks to the RGBIC lights that are embedded within each panel. If you take a user-friendly app and combine it with a genuinely remarkable number of features and functionalities, you have the makings of a successful product.

Putting it all together is as easy as clicking. There are seven different sections that can be combined in any way and stretched to any length.
The Govee smart table lamp can be controlled with just a light tap thanks to its very sensitive touch control located on the top.
