Honor Watch GS 3 has a sleek, sporty design and a lot of fitness modes and health tracking features like heart-rate monitoring, stress monitoring, and blood oxygen monitoring, which all make it a good fitness tracker. But if you want more detailed fitness tracking apps and stats, this watch isn’t the best option.
Smart features like native apps, support for contactless payments, and a good way to get notifications are still missing, making it a less appealing choice than the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Fitbit Versa 3. This watch is great because the battery lasts a long time on a single charge. You won’t have to worry about the watch running out of power for a very long time.

Honor Watch GS 3 review: Design

The Honor GS 3 doesn’t change the way smartwatches are made, but what it does offer is well-made and comfortable to wear all the time. You also get a pretty impressive screen. The 45mm case is made of metal and has a plastic back.
The 22mm strap is easy to take off and put on another watch. The GS 3 from Honor comes in Midnight Black (shown), Ocean Blue, and Classic Gold. The straps on the last two are made of Napa leather, while the strap on the black one we were testing was made of silicone, which was better for working out. You can buy this smartwatch from its official website.
Honor Watch GS 3 review: Features and Performance
Honor is no longer a part of Huawei, but the software on the watch seems to say something different. Honor doesn’t say much about the GS 3’s operating system, but it’s clear that it’s a proprietary one that looks and feels a lot like Huawei’s Harmony OS and Lite OS. It only works with Android phones right now. An over-the-air (OTA) update will add support for iOS, but there are no details yet about when that will happen.
To pair, sync, and change the watch’s settings, you’ll need the Honor Health app on your phone. This app looks a lot like Huawei’s Health app, which isn’t a big surprise. Honor doesn’t say much about the processor here either, but it doesn’t take long to figure out that the screen isn’t very smooth. There is a small amount of lag, which doesn’t make it hard to use every day but is still noticeable.
Honor Watch GS 3 review: Health and fitness

The Honor Health companion app has a clean look and gives you all the information you need to track your health and sports. There are cards that you can quickly look at to see your exercise history, health readings, and other information like steps and calories burned. You can also start tracking your activity right from the app and change the way your watch works by setting alarms, transferring music, and downloading new watch faces.
Honor Watch GS 3 review: Battery life
Honor smartwatches are known for having great battery life, and the GS 3 is no different. The 14-day battery life that is advertised isn’t realistic unless you turn off the GPS and stop constantly tracking your heart rate and SpO2. With the continuous functions turned on, we were able to get 5 to 7 days of use from a single charge.
That’s pretty good, and it kept us from having to worry about having another device that needed to be charged every few days. Using the charger that came with the phone was a lot of fun. The charger is now a simple puck with USB C connectivity, which we like better than older models where the cable couldn’t be detached from the charging puck, making it less flexible.
Honor Watch GS 3 review: Price & Availability
The Honor Watch GS 3 has a very good price, but it’s still hard to get in the US. At that price, it competes with smartwatches like the Amazfit GTR4, Huawei Watch GT3, and the soon-to-be-released Fitbit Versa. There used to be a time when it was hard to find an attractive smartwatch for less than £200/$200.
Final Words
The Honor Watch GS 3 is more suitable for use as a sports and fitness watch than as a smartwatch. It has a battery life that is adequate for the task, as well as a design and display that are appealing. But, if you are looking for the finest smartwatch for this price, there are currently other options that are superior to the one you are considering.
