Since the moment I got my hands on my very first LG Gram laptop, I’ve been a huge fan of the brand. Every time we pick up one of these amazingly lightweight computers, I am blown away not only by their size but also by their dependable performance and fantastic screens. The brand-new LG Gram SuperSlim builds on this history and delivers two significant enhancements to the table at the same time.
To begin, it is the most svelte laptop that LG has ever produced. LG products are known for their extreme lightness, but the company has traditionally placed less emphasis on their thinness. This laptop is incredibly portable thanks to its low profile and its portability. It is also one of the first laptops from Gram to include an OLED display, which, by itself, is reason enough to get excited about it. You really have something unique on your hands here if you top it off with the newest Intel processors from the 13th generation and some other high-end specifications.
LG Gram SuperSlim Specifications
Although LG’s Gram laptop range has become famous for its light weight and sleek form, it appears that the company’s engineers thought they might improve upon these features.

LG Gram SuperSlim: Design

The LG Gram SuperSlim’s chassis is blue magnesium alloy and is plain save for the silver Gram logo placed in the middle of the lid. The materials have little substance to speak of, making the laptop feel as bland as it appears. At least in this colorway (navy blue), I’m a fan.
The aspect ratio is the design feature that draws the most attention. The 15.6-inch screen is 16:9 instead of the more common 16:10 ratio found in modern laptops. Because of this, the laptop appears and feels wider than it is deep. It’s dimensions, however, indicate that it’s smaller than typical 15.6- and 16-inch laptops.
LG Gram SuperSlim: Display
The 141 ppi achieved by the display’s 1,920 x 1,080 resolution is slightly less than the 163 ppi achieved by a 27-inch 4K monitor. The Gram SuperSlim still has enough pixels to provide crisp images. YouTube videos have excellent clarity, even when using small font sizes.
The OLED panel really packs a punch thanks to its excellent color gamut and practically unlimited contrast ratio. It provides visually stunning results, with realistic shadows and vibrant colors in both dark and light environments. The Gram SuperSlim is an excellent choice for enjoying a film or Netflix. The screen’s superior color reproduction is especially useful for editing images and movies.
Keyboard and Touchpad

One area where the LG Gram SuperSlim may use improvement is the keyboard. While I wouldn’t call it horrible, I can see it pales in comparison to the keyboards on my trusty Lenovo computers. The lack of stiffness and travel in the keys makes typing uncomfortable. After some adjustment period, it served its purpose and became satisfactory. Compared to the keyboards on HP and Lenovo laptops, it falls short. LG also opted for a design that was nearly as large as a standard smartphone’s display. The arrow keys and number pad are arranged in a reversed T configuration.
When I see one of those on a laptop, I get excited because they’re becoming increasingly rare. I’m starting to feel better thanks to the touchpad. It’s a nice size, and my fingers glide across it with relative ease. The fact that there is so much empty space around it is the primary reason we are not fans. We haven’t felt squished at any point, but larger is typically preferable. I’d like to draw your attention to the fact that, unlike on many laptops, the touchpad is not located close to the space bar.
Software and Warranty
The LG Gram Superslim is preloaded with Windows 11 Home and the usual suite of Microsoft programs including Clipchamp, Cortana (which will be discontinued later this year), Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Teams, Paint, and more. There is surprisingly little unnecessary software installed on this laptop.
The LG Smart assistant app is one of the best since it allows you to customize your computer for different uses (such as studying, watching movies, working, or even going outside). Dark Mode, battery-saving mode, and fan speed control are all accessible from within the app’s interface. You may also adjust the brightness of the screen, enable artificial intelligence-based noise suppression for the microphones, and much more.
LG Gram SuperSlim: Performance
The LG Gram SuperSlim occupies an odd position between larger and more powerful 15-inch and 16-inch laptops, such as the Dell XPS 15, and more portable 14-inch laptops, such as the Lenovo Yoga 9i or Slim Pro 7. The Dell XPS 15 is an example of a larger laptop with a screen size of 15 inches. All of the Gram SuperSlim variants come standard with an Intel Core i7-1360P CPU, which is a 12-core chip with four performance cores and eight efficient cores. Integrated graphics are provided by Intel Iris Xe in every Gram SuperSlim model. PCMark 10 is the first step in our battery of tests; it is a benchmarking suite that evaluates a laptop based on a number of different tests.
LG Gram SuperSlim: Pricing and Availability
In 2023, LG declared the Gram series, including the SuperSlim Gram. It debuted in late April with new branding, having previously been known as LG Gram Ultraslim. It may now be purchased from LG as well as online shops like Amazon and B&H. There is also a non-working Best Buy listing.
The LG Gram SuperSlim, with a starting price of $1,700, is a very pricey laptop that must accomplish a lot to justify its high price tag. My system is a high-end configuration, costing $2,000, with 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD.
Final Words
For $1,700, you get a Full HD 60Hz display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, which is a really odd decision even for LG. The LG Gram Style’s 16-inch 16:10 display costs only $100 more than the 15-inch panel, and it has the same 3200×2000 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It’s not light, but it’s still manageable to lug around.
The LG Gram SuperSlim may look different from LG’s other laptops, but it doesn’t make it any less of a good laptop. It’s a good option if portability is your top priority, and it offers many other advantages as well. Instead of last year’s Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro, this one is here to stay.
LG Gram SuperSlim review: The good and The bad
Outstanding longevity of the battery. Runs very quiet. TIRED. A performance that was less than satisfying. Incredible in terms of cost.
The Good
- OLED display provides punchy contrast and color
- Solid battery life
The Bad
- No discrete graphics option
Questions and Answers
The Gram 17 Pro, like other laptops manufactured from magnesium alloy, is surprisingly flexible. It didn’t take much force to twist the lid, and the keyboard deck was pliable. That doesn’t mean it isn’t a sturdy laptop, but it certainly doesn’t feel as sturdy as laptop tanks like the Dell XPS 17 and Apple MacBook Pro 16.
The smallest Dell laptop, the XPS 13, still clocks in at 2.8 pounds. How did LG manage to make the Gram 16 so featherlight? The magnesium alloy chassis is primarily responsible for the lightweight design.
