The year 2022 saw the debut of the LG S80QR. It is a product by LG that is considered to be in the middle of the range and can be purchased on its own as the LG S80QY or with the addition of the LG SPQ8-S satellites for enhanced performance in surround sound.
Its one-of-a-kind design incorporates, much like that of the LG S90QY and the LG S95QR, an additional up-firing center channel on top of the bar for the purpose of producing dialogue of a higher quality. You also receive access to a large number of the premium features that LG has to offer, including as the AI Room Calibration tool and the TV Sound Mode Share feature, both of which increase the sound quality when used in conjunction with compatible LG TVs.

LG S80QR: Sound Quality

The entire process of setting up, connecting, and testing takes no more than ten minutes. After getting everything set up, my initial impression is that the LG SQ80R’s expansive soundstage completely covers the area behind me. The S80QR does not have the immersive quality of an Atmos system, in my opinion.
This 620W 5.1.3 system doesn’t do Atmos or DTS:X tracks justice in terms of height. Blade Runner’s dreary soundtrack fails to envelop the listener since it never truly seems to come from above or to be dispersed throughout the room. Instead, the S80QR reproduces sound in a conventional 5.1 fashion. You can buy this sounbar from its official website
LG S80QR: Performance

After putting up the S80QR, it was clear how different it was from the TV speakers. The S80QR is much louder, and that subwoofer made the sound so full and strong. The sound was better, and the back speakers often made me feel like we were in the movie. In one scene of The Crown, which is on Netflix, the key characters were watching a speech on TV. When the scene changed to where the speech was actually being given, it sounded like we were being sucked into the scene.
We loved how real the characters’ dialogue sounded in God of War Ragnarok, as well as how epic the fights sounded. One moment that stood out was when we were walking with Atreus and he went off-screen to my left. When he spoke again, we were surprised because it sounded like he was right behind me, which is something that only the best game headsets can do.
Final Words
The LG S80QR is an excellent sound bar that will enhance your movie-watching and gaming experiences. You can hear every word clearly, and the seats in your house will tremble during those truly spectacular moments. It does what it’s supposed to and has a low learning curve. Most people can’t afford the S80QR, and audiophiles won’t be happy with it. As much as a 4K TV from QNED. Even though the S80QY is less expensive, we wouldn’t recommend it because the back speakers make such a difference in the whole listening experience.

FAQS
The LG S80QR is a great movie screen. The bar works with a lot of popular audio formats, like Dolby Digital and Dolby Atmos, whether you watch from a streaming service or a Blu-ray disc. Plus, the extra satellites make it work better all around, so your favorite movies look and feel more clear and real.
On the back, there are two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB port, and an optical port. The S80QR works with HDMI eARC, so people with TVs like the LG QNED99 that are compatible will be able to enjoy the perks. The S80QR also works with ALLM and VRR, so you can connect your console to it and play games in 4K at 120Hz.
